Early mail in vote
Since I'm over 65 I qualify to mail in vote, with covid-19 the line's will be long. I'm ready to early vote but concerned about my vote for Trump, suppose he gets really sick and doesn't run for another term. What would happen with my vote? Would the person taking his spot get my vote? I plan on calling vote.gov tomorrow but thought I'd throw this out there. When I get an answer I'll report back.

Re: Early mail in vote
You aren't directly voting for president. Your vote, along with everyone else's, demonstrates the will of the voters to the Texas electors. The electors cast votes for president on December 14th (the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December).

SUBCHAPTER C. WITHDRAWAL, DEATH, AND INELIGIBILITY OF PRESIDENTIAL AND VICE-PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES
The most likely outcome is that the party leaders declare a replacement, and the electors place their votes for the replacement.

This is the way. We have a constitutional republic, not a democracy.Boxerrider wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 9:24 am You aren't directly voting for president. And concerning mail in voting, Y'all will have to excuse me if I just flat out don't trust mail in voting. Way to many stories of ballots being thrown out or found in garbage cans and they always seem to be Republican ballots. I figure if I can go to the store or restaurant I can go vote in person to make sure my vote counts.

I don't trust the mail either, I'm going to drop my ballot at the county clerk's office.

Much safer than mailing it but still at some risk a poll worker will decide your ballot has some deficiency that disqualifies it. Maybe I am being paranoid but after what we have learned of the leftist corruption over the past four years I am suspect of anything political. I plan to enter my vote in the computer and hit send.

Re: Early mail in vote
If you qualify for mail in voting, you can drop off your ballot personally any time after you receive it to the designated drop-off spot in your county. You don’t have to mail it. Abbott changed some of the rules for November.

I saw on the news tonight that some of the Democraps are crying about us only having one box per county.
