Yeah. I picked up on that also. Why anyone would feel the need to protect such a animal is beyond me.

750 people there 2 dead 14 wounded and no witnesses? Texas cops have received a lot of negative publicity lately. Maybe it's a trust issue.

Wow, 750 attendees! That would take a rather large venue with parking. Can't quite read the JCT sign in the pic. Could be 24, or 224.

From the story I read, the shooting started after the sheriffs department was already there. They had been called about illegal parking.

It's been my experience that when witnesses aren't cooperating then they are planning on "taking care" of it themselves! This was true when the Asian gangs in Haltom were going at each other!

The shooting took place at "The Party Venue" on highway 380.

Apparently, the shooter went in the back door while the Deputies were dealing with illegal parking out front.

Stay away from crowds.

There were roughly 750 people at the event, which officials said may have been linked to a fraternity. About 20 people have already been questioned about the shooting, Meeks said, though many questioned what they saw and were unable to provide a detailed description of the suspect.

“It appalls me that, as many folks that were there, [they] have not been able to give us a better description of this shooter,” Meeks told reporters during a news conference.

Where did you read "witnesses aren't cooperating"?
Maybe I misunderstood this but

It may "appall" the guy but that doesn't mean the people are not telling the truth about the situation at hand.

Sounds like the guy is trying to blame someone since he isn't looking to good for not finding the shooter yet. I hope they do find the shooter!! Maybe someone will come forward but this guy needs to realize not all these crimes can be solved overnight.

So people are saying gang shooting. Any real evidence yet?

Strange. I thought I read in the article the police said it was a one person target and the others got caught in the cross fire. It could still be gang crappola. College kids get caught up in drugs and it can result in gang connections. Twelve years ago in my sons second year at UTA, a kid was shot in the head an apartment behind him that had a common wall. He was selling drugs at school to cover his tuition and owed the wrong people money. I had let him find his own place with a dollar limit and that was the dive he picked. Myself and a friend went out there the next weekend and moved him to a place I picked that cost a couple hundred a month more but was not in the middle of a gang banger hood. That incident scared me to death.

DALLAS — A shooting happened after the vigil for Kevin Berry Sunday night in the parking lot of St. Augustine Park.
Berry was one of the people shot and killed in a shooting at a homecoming party in Greenville Saturday night.
WFAA's Matt Howerton was covering the Sunday vigil, and took the following video once he and his photographer got to safety. Howerton said he heard dozens of gunshots:

The shooter is still at large, authorities say. Police said he used a 9mm handgun and that earlier reports that the weapon was a rifle were erroneously based on replica shells scattered around the party space as decorations.
