Apparently mirrors Obama’s Admin view on Title IX.
“incentivize college employees to report anything that the most delicate person on campus might consider sexual harassment.”
Waiting on Governors signature.

What exactly is sexual harassment? Does this mean that if a student talks about breast cancer, I should report it because of the word "breast"? Or, Can I report the biology teacher when he discusses male reproductive organs and mentions the word "penis"?
OMA, I'm already offended by my fingers. Dialing 911 now.

If you remember, mentioning that there was a “pube hair” on your soda can to a person of the opposite sex was considered sexual harassment during a Supreme Court nomination. The offended person ended up with a life time cushy job, honors and awards, after it was over.OneGun wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2019 2:54 pm What exactly is sexual harassment? If you put the offensive words in parentheses, that makes it non offensive, right?

How about posting a link to the actual text of the bill, so we can decide for ourselves whether it's "Fake News"?
https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/86R/b ... 00212F.htm
Emphasis mine...

(5) "Sexual harassment" means unwelcome, sex-based
verbal or physical conduct that:
(A) in the employment context, unreasonably
interferes with a person's work performance or creates an
intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment; or
(B) in the education context, is sufficiently
severe, persistent, or pervasive that the conduct interferes with a
student's ability to participate in or benefit from educational
programs or activities at a postsecondary educational institution.

I am not a lawyer. This is NOT legal advice.!

Has anybody read the Bill yet? It says nothing about sexual harassment being a criminal offense. It is relating to reporting of incidents by college officials. Basically making it a crime to cover it up... Still dubious, but nowhere near what the title of the thread implies.RoyGBiv wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2019 6:08 pm How about posting a link to the actual text of the bill, so we can decide for ourselves whether it's "Fake News"?

Nope it’s idiotic and probably unconstitutional, but it doesn’t criminalize off color jokes on campus...and I noticed the thread heading updatephilip964 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2019 9:06 pmSo you like it and think the Gov should sign?ScottDLS wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2019 6:19 pmHas anybody read the Bill yet? Re: TX: On Abbot’s desk to sign, sex jokes illegal for authority not to report on college campuses.
Yeah, that's right up there with the no smokin' age limit. That's also about as stupid as are the law/s that dictate that Texas citizens go to contiguous states to gamble, thereby leaving tax revenues in said contiguous states.
Did I mention Texas' stupid liquor laws? For another example: Texarkana, TX has dozens of places where one can get fallin' down drunk in an eatin' establishment and try to find their way home. Texarkana, TX has no place where one can buy a jar of liquor and take it home to drink and fall down drunk safely, without death and destruction to others. OTOH, State Line Road in Texarkana is lined, on the Arkansas side, with Liquor Stores where one can buy a jar and take it home and consume safely, while Texas stupidly loses that Tax Revenue to yet another contiguous state. Does Texas have a revenue problem or a stupid problem? Just askin'....
FWIW, I neither gamble nor smoke.
