Ponder this...

“Capital must protect itself in every possible manner by combination and legislation. Debts must be collected, bonds and mortgages must be foreclosed as rapidly as possible. When, through a process of law, the common people lose their homes they will become more docile and more easily governed through the influence of the strong arm of government, applied by a central power of wealth under control of leading financiers. This truth is well known among our principal men now engaged in forming an imperialism of Capital to govern the world. By dividing the voters through the political party system, we can get them to expend their energies in fighting over questions of no importance. Thus by discreet action we can secure for ourselves what has been so well planned and so successfully accomplished.” – USA Banker’s Magazine, August 25, 1924
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

mission accomplished?

It's pretty clear that our governments are largely owned by corporate lobbyists and it appears that they may be too far gone that we can't count on them to make the necessary reforms. But there is hope that enough people will wake up to it and fight back at the polls, drain the swamp, and get people in there who will enact legislation that will end the concept of 40 year congressional careers.

Thanks for your thought provoking post. I'm going to take it one step further than corporate lobbyists and extend it to the Media as well; the entity I fell most unrest and division comes from.

Take the recent unrest, counter protest, what have you in Charlottesville. How many of you out there were aware this protest about the statue by white supremacists was going to happen. Very few, if any, I think. The Media, however, has the unbelievable ability to be at the right place at the right time, under the right conditions, for such an event, ripe with controversy to turn violent. It amazes me. I'm not saying that things wouldn't have turned violent without the media there. But what if there was no hype to get the counter protesters there, and no cameras to cover the non event. Would there have been this huge clash. I think not. There would have been a bunch of idiot skin heads standing around a statue with their thumb up you know where. They have the right to assemble in this country, guaranteed by the Constitution. And though there cause is dumb, controversial, hate filled, and not the norm. It is still there right. The ACLU defended them in their right.

The point is, there would be no news about this event if they were left alone. Just like I didn't know it was going to happened. The event would have passed with me none the wiser. But that is not good TV. All news organizations wanted this to happen. Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc.... all of them. It makes good TV to show violence and the divisions between people and to further their narrative and divide us further. The Media's agenda is not your agenda.

Imagine for one minute that everything was hunky dory in our country and in the world. Would you watch the news? I know I wouldn't. I go one with the pursuit of my life, liberty, and happiness, with minimal gov't interference. I think most of you would too. I think we would pay attention to the important things that do or will effect us, but disregard the small ignorant things like this protest. The Media does all it can that you do not. A lot of these politicians are doing the same thing.

What was wrong with Trump's initial response to the "clash". Paraphrasing, "there is no place for this in America, there is blame on many sides." That is the correct statement. But to further divide us and make our President look like he did not say enough, he is criticized by news organizations, Democrats, and Republicans (Rubio, Graham). Trump doesn't need to say anything more. He has more important things on his plate like NorK, and his agenda, which is the reason I elected him. It kills me that he felt compelled to cave into these media outlets and spot light grabbing politicians.

Right now, for me anyway, it is exhausting trying to stay informed about the important things when I/we have to sift through all of this other garbage.

Right. They wouldn't bother to take those bus rides to demonstrate if they knew there would be no media coverage.
