Google him, there's plenty of opinions out there. Some like him, some hate him. He never bought me lunch so I can't say either way

I recall Chief Lee Brown going from Houston to New York and prohibiting any officer from carrying a Glock in NY except himself back when they all had revolvers.
Liberal Democrat Cities, I left one moved to small town, and don't plan to live in (or even drive in, if I can help it) a large city again.

He's not gun friendly.
A quote of his
“And that’s why it’s important for us as Americans to know our neighbors, know our families — tell somebody,” he said. “If you know somebody that is acting with a lot of hatred towards any particular group — especially if it’s somebody you know is a
gun enthusiast or is armed with these type of firearms and they’re showing any kind of propensity for hatred — it doesn’t mean we’re going to take them to jail, but we might want to vet these people.”

Do a quick search on this forum and you will find a lot of information on him

It gives me no pleasure to report that "Coercive fathead" is an anagram for "Chief Art Acevedo".

IIRC Austin nabbed him from California which helps explain things IMO. Rather than shutting down unpermitted anti-trump protests after the election which blocked downtown streets for multiple days at rush hour, he walked with the crowds and had the police escort the protest etc.
Him leaving isn't going to make Austin any better however, as he will be replaced with someone of equal mentality. The Austin city council is focused on spending more, more, more, taxing more, more, more, etc. e.g. the $150m wasted on a light rail;

I've been wanting to relocate to a more conservative town, but at the same time feel a duty to stay and vote conservative in Austin. Each day that passes it seems to be more and more of a lost cause here in Austin, with no end in sight to government spending and rising taxes.
