That this is the last Father's Day that I won't be one myself. I'm not allowed to tell anyone and since none of y'all know me I guess that works out well.

We never planned on having children, something we were both in agreement with.

I'm almost 39 and my wife just turned 40. I spent Sunday at the tactical range and arrived home about 7pm (she didn't go because she hadn't been feeling well). She grabbed me a beer and some lighter clothes...let me relax for a few minutes.

Then she said, "when you have a minute, I have a surprise for you." When I came inside, she pulled out that "magical" test stick. I was terrified...I mean really terrified. She was in shock...had only taken it about an hour beforehand.

Despite the fact that this wasn't the plan, I think I'm the happiest man on the planet right now. We've both embraced it and can't wait to see what comes next.

I'll have a new partner on the tactical range before I know it!

I had my youngest when I was 38 and he was a surprise. I know you are walking on air now, so just enjoy every minute of it, and just be there for your wife when she has all of the typical pregnancy issues, and you'll be fine. Keep us updated, due date, gender, if you decide to find out early, etc.

CONGRATULATIONS !!! Have you heard the term "scary good" ? When my wife and I decided to have kids...... words can't descibe the fear involved, and the happiness. Most of the best moments of my life have been with the three most important people in the world (at least to me), and some of the scariest moments as well. Would I change anything ? Not really. Don't forget to hug 'em & tell 'em you love them. Kids are great. Heck, without mine I would probably still have all that pesky dirty blonde hair instead of my current silver grey tresses.
