Hello, I need some help from someone else who also knows the logic board and hardware for Iphone 6's. I work on them all the time as a hobby. I am working on 2 different phones at the moment and both are the 6+.

1. Have an 6+ that was dropped in a case and the screen is unresponsive and extremely dim. Like on 1% brightness. I have changed the screen and whole front panel assembly. I have the touch and home button working, but the dimness still exist. When the person dropped the phone it did a very slight bent in the case on 3/4 bottom side of the phone with the bottom right corner also bent slightly. I have done a factory reset and soft reset but the dimness is till there. Anyone know a solution, and Please DO NOT say go to APPLE. I'm sorry but that is a worthless waste of time. Was seeing if anyone knows what might be the problem and if its an hardware part that I can replace.

2. This phone does have a similar problem. It became very slightly bent in his back pocket. The touch screen is also unresponsive, even with 4 different LCD screens I have tried. There is no dim or darkness on the phone and home button till works also.

If anyone here knows if soldering on a new part to the motherboard would work if that is the problem. I have my equipment for soldering the micro chips. Just have not done it yet to these.

I have looked online at forums but majority of the problem is all you get for responses is people saying. Hey I have that problem too.

One more thing. Anyone else have issues with IOS 9.2? For these 4 phones I am working with. Itunes is literally taking over 4-5 hours to extract the software for the update after it is downloaded. I have downloaded the IOS through a website and Itunes. I did not have the problem with 9.1. Problem is Itunes disconnects the phone during the extraction and does not reconnect it, so I think I need to be presently at the computer too reconnect it towards the end, Because when the extraction finished and it disconnected the phone. Itunes said could not locate phone. Not sure why it is disconnecting the phone.

Also, Yes, I have tried updating them in DFU mode also. Same problem with the extraction time. With this extraction wait time I have yet to able to actually load this IOS on to the phone.

Thank you for reading and opinions.

Fixed the extraction issue. For some reason it was my other laptop taking a very long time.

For #1 my wifes say try the front camera it holds the ambient light sensors.
Edited to add that after camera replacement if still won't change then to master reset if that don't work then probably the board and that's were her skills end.

Can you find the backlight circuit and verify it's getting the correct voltage/current?

I'll give that a try. Thank you. I have multiple phones I can just switch it out with.
I'm still working on understanding and trying to learn the board.

Not sure which circuit it is, but I'll see if I can find where it's located. Hopefully online will tell me where.

I still appreciate the idea. Thanks. I'll find it eventually.
I'll try some trial and error with parts when I get off work.

Well dang, I was hoping if I completely field strip #1 it could possibly fix it, but the screen is still dim. I am sure you're right that it being a short somewhere with the black light,or ambient sensor.
I'll keep trying to find out ways to fix it.

Okay so after some time working on the phone. It's the board. There can be a few problems. Possibly the coils, the blacklight chip or backlight filters. Trying to find a video is not too easy to locate. Going to have to replace a part.
