To answer your question on being mentally ill or just plain stupid. I think it's half & half. He's not respected by foreign countries or their leaders just like his boss. It will be even worse with Hillary. IMHO

Kerry has had an ego problem since his teen years, the "next JFK from Massachusetts." In all the years I was in the Navy, admittedly mostly reserve, I never encountered anyone who conceived the idea of taking a movie camera along to film his exploits. Decades as a Senator refined this character defect.

If you don't mind waking up screaming in the middle of the night, recall how close he came to being President.

He serves at the pleasure of the President. Sure, he could be impeached, but if Eric Holder wasn't, why bother with Kerry?

Anybody who would serve under Obama as Clinton and Holder did is cut from the same cloth as Clinton and Holder, so.......

He believes that America is the problem and that we deserve to be put in our place by terrorists because we hurt their feelings. If that's mental illness he's mentally ill.

Hey now, I've had a few friends who were in the Navy. Yeah, they got drunk, but unlike John Kerry, they eventually sobered up so they could do their jobs.

None of them are mental. They are kicking butt but the wrong butts.

It occurs to me that we are missing a bigger picture.

The Muslims, in the form of ISIS, have as their goal the triumph of the world wide caliphate, everyone will be Muslim or eliminated, and the will of Allah will reign supreme and unimpeded.

The Communists, socialists, are working for the elimination of western culture, free private enterprise, capitalism, and the triumph of world wide socialism, with social justice and equality.

Western culture, which features emphasis on individual liberty, free private enterprise, freedoms of all kinds, religion, speech, due process, etc. is anathema to these totalitarian forms. Once it is struck down, marginalized, emasculated, the two triumphant, and mutually exclusive, ideologues can battle for the ultimate triumph their adherents enthusiastically desire. Western culture, which has no provision for imposing itself on anyone, but must be freely chosen, seems disadvantaged.
