I saw this article in the 4/19/2015 Dallas Morning News.

Prosecutors are generally averse to prosecuting LEO's, partly because LEO's and DA's are usually allies,
but also because juries are likely to identify with LEO's as people who must use violence in the performance
of their duties. Convictions aren't always gained after lengthy trials.

There are short summaries of the shooting details, and the verdicts. The Texas cases involve LEO's in
Garland, Austin, and Bastrop.

After reading the article, I am surprised that there aren't more convictions and surprised at the light sentences for the ones who are convicted.

If anyone else had committed these crimes they'd be facing 20yrs to life if not the death sentence.

Junnier and another officer shot and killed 92-year-old Kathryn Johnson in an attempted 2006 drug raid at her Atlanta home. As the two narcotics enforcement officers tried to enter her front door, Johnson fired a warning shot. The officers began shooting, firing 39 times total and striking Johnson repeatedly. The drug raid was based on information that the officers knew to be false, records show. Junnier was convicted of felony voluntary manslaughter and a federal civil rights violation and was sentenced to six years in federal prison. He was released in 2013. “This case was all about cops lying about probable cause to get a search warrant and then they made a double mistake and shot an innocent woman,” Junnier’s attorney, Wilmer Parker, told The Post. “As I told the court, he deeply regretted his actions.” Junnier declined to comment.

Gunning down a 92yr old lady after knowing executing a warrant on the wrong house! That's just blatant evil abuse of power.

Interesting. My prediction is that we are going to see a lot more stories like this alleging abuse of power and racism. Not to say that problems don't exist, but the left needs to manufacture a crisis to achieve their goal of creating a federal police force.
