My wife was busy with the kids and didnt hear the door ring. Wasnt until i checked the cameras later that i noticed anyone even came to the door. He isnt wearing the normal uniform for our local police (North Richland Hills TX), wasn't sure if maybe from the State or maybe a county sheriff? He seemed to be going door to door around our house (from other camera angles), a neighbor thinks he might have been looking for a felon with warrants (due to incidents that happened earlier in the week i wasnt aware of). Any ideas? Ive never had anything like that before.
Just was curious.

Maybe a Deputy Constable? Looks like he has some legal documents in his left hand.

you should be able to look up the sheriff and constable uniforms online. to me doesnt look like he is looking for a felon with warrants, just looks to casual not even looking at windows around the door or anything

He was probably a federal investigator doing a security clearance investigation called a Special Backgroud Investigation (SBI) for one of your neighbors. He would have had a badge and ID, and the actions you describe fit this process. Whoever was being invesigated would not even know about it.
I have had many SBIs over the years for security clearances, and on occassion one of my nighbors would tell me some guy was in the neighborhood asking questions about me.

Tarrant County Constable maybe.

He was standing that way so he could see the door, and out to the street. Also standing to the side of the door in case someone inside decides to shoot at him through the door.

The patch looks very similar to Tarrant County Constable.

The SBI investigators that did my investigations all wore civilian clothes. At least that is what I was told by my family and friends that were interviewed...

I can't ID the LEO, but I can indicate how helpful these cameras have been to me personally... If you don't have them, look at getting them.

Spoke with some old friends, seems they all think he was a tarrant county constable. Finally spoke with another neighbor, claims he was looking for person last seen on our street, has a photo in hand.

Same here. In my case think it was Air Force Office of Special Investigations so they'd all be in civvies.

Same here as well, but a different agency. Seems like it changes every several years.
