I have three of the silly things. One B+ and two B models. I am using one as a wireless access point, one for a pen test machine and one just for the fun of it. The B models usually require a powered USB hub so my future Pi's will be B+ or greater.

i have one using xbmc on it -- great little deal and having full 1080p is awesome out of little bitty machine -- did you build that case for it or buy it?

Several folks have used the Pi as a controller for an IRLP (Internet Radio Linking Project) controller, using one of the Pi distros and some off-the-wall connectors. One gent in particular, has three of the stuffed into one box, high up on a relatively inaccesible mountaintop... On Pi operates as the charge controller and power management tool for the solar powered mountaintop repeater, another Pi manages the IRLP interface to the repeater, and yet another Pi is the repeater's primary controller. Flexible little thingies, aren't they?

Had a customer trying to use those for display controllers in a fancy vending machine. I did only a little looking.
Cool stuff. Lots of capabilities in a small package.

I love RPi's. I have a B model right now and I'm definitely switching to a B+. Lots of good uses for a B model though!

What kind of projects are you guys doing with your microcontrollers?

How about this instead of the Raspberry Pi? This directs to Polish website but I assure you it's safe. Complete PC on a stamp sized board. It's only 32bit but still pretty cool. Put a few of them together and have a server farm.

Do any of you Pi experts know if it can be used to 1) receive input from an accelerometer (shock/impact sensor); and 2) trigger a relay. If so, can it handle multiple independent inputs/outputs?

I found the answer. I can use a Gertboard to control relays.

What language are you guys talking?

My dad is an old Linux guy and keep frying his computers trying to run it. I keep asking him why he keeps doing that when all he does anymore is surf the net, send and receive e-mail, and listen to Rush. I wonder if he knows about these little critters.
