According to the complaint, “During the course of his shopping, (Carvounis) would place items in his shopping basket. While walking around and continuing to shop, he would take various merchandise out of the package and conceal in his pockets…He would discard the empty packages on shelves throughout the store.”

Security video also caught Carvounis tearing the price tag from a Cabela’s hat, which he wore while trying to leave the store.
When caught, police say, Carvounis invoked his position, asking again and again for a little professional courtesy — to let him off so he wouldn’t lose his job.
Do people check their morals at the door when they enter his administration?

It's really disturbing that the guy has the nerve to ask for "professional courtesy" after he is caught. What "profession" would extend this type of "courtesy" as if it were common practice?

I don't think there is much difference between New Jersey, New York, Chicago and now DC politics. They are all pretty much corrupt thugs. Similar to the inmates running the prison.

The alleged thief isn't a politician.

He's an LEO, who was/is a Christie bodyguard.

The professional courtesy question apparently was in the form of his asking the arresting officer for leniency.

I's fine with me if the wolves eat him now as I don't want to take any chance of him ending up being on the ticket for the election. If the wolves don't eat him now, we will have to make sure to defeat him in the primary. Our country cannot withstand another four years under a progressive liberal.

Perhaps I should have rephrased my question thusly: "Do people check their morals at the door when they go to work for Christie?" I know the guy was an LEO, which makes his alleged crime even more egregious. I expect politicians to be thieves. (Please note, I don't want them to be thieves, but after decades as an observer, I expect it.........much the way I expect any other class of criminals to be thieves.....) If it had been Christie himself who was the thief, it would have surprised me much less. But LEOs? I don't expect it from LEOs. And to have the nerve to ask for "professional courtesy"?

I have heard that "professional courtesy" thing is expected and often given in many states especially up in the Northeast at least in some states.

Bodyguard? Why would anybody need a bodyguard in a gun free state such as Noo Joisey?
