SAN ANTONIO (Reuters) - Polygamist leader Warren Jeffs interrupted his Texas child sexual assault trial on Friday, shouting that his religious rights were being violated and warning the court it was stomping on "sacred ground".

Not if he's already been taken into custody.

Warren Jeffs has been gaming the legal system by constantly changing lawyers.
He's up to 7 so far, and when he fired the last one, he told the judge that he wanted to represent himself.
Judge Barbara Walther (does she carry a PPK?) shot back that the court did not have time for him to go to law school during the trial.
The trial is being held in San Angelo.

Their compound was raided and children/women removed a few years ago if I remember correctly, so I doubt there would be another blood bath.

I'll bet people said the same thing after Ruby Ridge.

They learned to keep the press away.

I live in San Angelo, and the trial is a pretty big deal here. The compound is something else, yall. I got a buddy who did some contractor work out there last summer. Its super tight security. Cameras\guards\etc. It may as well be GW Bush's ranch. My bud was met at the gate by armed security, and they escorted him all over the compound. They never left his side, even when he was crawling under different buildings doing electrical work. They apparently told him they wanted to blind fold him when he was outdoors between buildings and whatnot, but he refused saying they could call someone else, and they apparently relented but still would not let him out of arms reach. Crazy folks.

In case your wondering, they aren't 30.06 posted, and he was packing while working. I guesss they didnt search him, or he refused the search. Either way, he walked in and out with a handgun without their knowledge. LOL

I doubt it would be that fellow in particular. He is already in custody. Really I think the way the police handled the last raid there where they tore toddlers out of mother's arms for no other reason than they lived in a community where *might* at the age of 14 be given in marriage (obviously too young--but really--removing 100's of children on such a small pretense) is what would cause another Waco. Just to be clear, I am not a fan of this community, polygamy is terrible for women, but so is the other time honored situation that still is ever so common of having a wife and then on the side having several girlfriends.
