Gabrielle Giffords, a Democratic congresswoman from Arizona, was shot and killed today at a public event outside a grocery store.

A spokesman for the Pima County sheriff says that at least 12 people were shot, with at least 6 fatalities. The Tucson Citizen reports that Rep. Giffords was "shot point blank in the head."

Yep, and in the update at 2:30 PM it's already started:

Rep. Giffords was also on Sarah Palin's "target list."

Even though Giffords was pro 2A, and pro life, the usual suspects will point to the right as the cause of this tragic event.

CNN has a political cartoonist on the scene providing commentary (on the phone).

Media now reporting she is still alive, but in critical condition!!!

Why are they not telling the public what they obviously know?
