A Small World

My wife and I are in the process of buying a house and we met with our realtor today to take a look at several houses. After viewing a few houses and eating lunch, we pile back into the realtor's car to see our next house. The realtor asks my wife to hand her something from the realtor's purse in the back seat. Just then she kind of stutters "Uh, you may find something interesting in there...don't worry...no wait, I don't have it with me today." Turns out our realtor has a CHL. My wife's reaction was priceless before the realtor realized she didn't have her Glock in there.
We then struck up a conversation about shooting and how I want to get my CHL after we buy a house. What a small world.

I'd have told her jokingly, "Then I guess we need to find a different Realtor, you know, one who is better prepared to take care of us"

See, I'm not the ONLY worthwhile Realtor out there
Of course, I don't EVER forget such important things. I've left behind my lockbox key and my iPhone, but never my most important tool
But good for her for carrying legally. I think all Realtors should do so.

Seems like at least once a year, a realtor (usually female) looses their life due
to some BG. Realtors allow themselves into questionable situations. I am glad your
realtor was at least aware that she might some day enter a dangerous situation.
On the other hand, if I was a realtor, when would I pull my piece? After I was
hit over the head? Or after I was attacked?

I too am a Realtor in Austin! I decided to start carrying every day a year ago. I love my job, but sometimes it involves meeting strangers in vacant houses that arent always in the best part of town.

SQLGeek:
You may wish to remind your Realtor to carry 24/7.
On body might be preferable. What if her Glock HAD
been in her purse, your wife wasn't gun-aware, and she
pulled the trigger by mistake?
Of course the safety might be on. Oh no it wouldn't,
it's a Glock.
Glockleg might become Glockhead in such a situation.

Here's a copy of one of my posts from 4 years ago. The dialog occurred when an officer assist called dropped while booking a prisoner.
Radio transmission during an "officer assist" call:
Dispatch: 941, return to the station.
941: Negative
Dispatch: 941, return to the station immediately!
941: Negative!
Patrol Lt.: 941, what's the first rule of a gunfight?
941: 941 en route to the station.
Unfortunately, it does happen.
Chas.
