Frisco, Texas is in Collin County, just north of Plano.
A Glock wielding bad guy attempted to rob Texas native and Christian gal
Marian Chadwick. She is 57 and her pic is in the link.
I certainly would not recommend that anyone else try what she did, but
I'm glad she and her customer are still able to fog a mirror!
DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS WOMEN!!

Wife and I saw that last night and she said "see, that's what I told you, God will protect me...I don't need a gun..."
My wife and I have faith but I like to be prepared.

Foolish or not, the gunman was obviously impressed and did not want to go meet his Maker having murdered a woman for rebuking him in that Maker's name.

The Frisco Police Department isn't condoning the women's actions. "Property is replaceable; life isn't," said police spokesman Greg Barnett. "It's better to cooperate than to do anything that will agitate or anger the suspect and possibly cause the encounter to become violent."
He is already agitated, he is angry at the world, & someone pointing a gun at me is violent. If that aint violent then why do Police shoot folks that point guns at them.

My dad told me YEARS ago that if you're ever going to try that, you had better be DARN sure that God has given you a direct order. Otherwise you're getting shot

I disagree. He wasn't "obviously impressed", he was just obviously bluffing. Invoking the name of ones God is poor situational awareness because it doesnt take into account the BG may not believe in your (or any) god, or worse yet, God may be a sore spot - and trigger (pardon the pun) for him.

My darling wife has corrected my failing memory....her exact words to me were "I have more faith in God than I do in a gun because God has never failed, guns have." (NOTE - she's not talking about my Glock, Kimber, etc...I hope!)

"It wasn't [the gunman's] time to die," she said. "That's why Chuck wasn't here."
Hehe.

If she invoked the Power of Green Lantern and the Entire Justice League I think he would have acted the same way. The BG thought he could go in wave a gun and get what he wanted, he didnt think this fool would be wagging her finger in his face and refuse to cooperate.
I'm sure she isnt the first person to do such a thing, but I'm betting the majority of the others are dead.

Actually, I agree with you. I was trying to make a joke. A small joke. Obviously it was too small to be out by itself.
I have posted in other threads that,
because of my profoundly committed Christian faith, I accept that God may call on me to be the agent of my own deliverance so I should be prepared for that possibility;
or... He may call on someone else to be the agent of my deliverance, even someone who does not believe in Him;
or... He may be done with me here in this life, and no amount of preparation on my part or anyone else's will make a bit of difference in the outcome. I'm actually OK with all three possibilities.

Mark, see my immediately preceding post to this one.
