Tallahassee area, Sunday -- A man dressed as a ninja broke into the home of an 82-year-old man and shocked the homeowner with an electrical device. The homeowner gave the robber his wallet. The robber demanded more, and the homeowner shot him twice. The robber died at the scene.

82 years old. Wow. My hats off to him for reaching that age AND defending himself. :tiphat:

I'd like to read more details when they become available.

Thanks for posting!

You're welcome.

I set up an alert on this case. I'll post any updates.

I post as many of these as I run across. They occur practically every day somewhere in the U.S.

WW II vet. I love it. Gives credence to the 'Greatest Generation' moniker. That generation truly was/ is great.

Update with some details: http://www.tallahassee.com/article/2009 ... ls+invader+" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The "alleged" robber lived over a hundred miles from the robbery target, which is a rural area in the Florida panhandle.

If anyone thinks it's silly to carry at home, this story should settle the issue.

As they say. 'Don't fight with an old guy; they'll just kill you.' ;-)

I guess the robber never hear Kenny Rogers "The Gambler"

You gotta know when to walk away and know when to run.

Oh well...one less scum to contend with!

Three women were charged in connection with the home invasion robbery where the 82-year-old man fatally shot a robber.

They and the deceased robber had reportedly "rehearsed" for weeks. I guess their scenarios did not include finding an alert, armed homeowner.
