C&R FFL Application question

I'm looking to apply for a C&R 03 FFL. The only question I am unclear how to answer on the application is my local police signature. Do I use HPD or my local sheriff?

I'm assuming it's the local sheriff. I guess I'll have to find out where they are located at.

If you had to call for law enforcement, who would show up?

I have no idea...

When my wife and I bought the house 5 years ago the builder gave us a list of emergency contact numbers. I believe it is the local sheriff's department on there. If I call for police I think either Houston Police Department or the county sheriff will show up. I don't know who will show up.

If you are in a city limits it will be police. Outside the city it will be sheriff. Look on your tax appraisal to see if you pay city taxes. In the county you do not pay city taxes.

I thought it only asked if you forwarded a copy of the application to the "Chief Law Enforcement Officer" for your community.

With my original and 2 subsequent renewals, I've always sent a copy to my county sheriff.

You may be right. It's been a while since I've looked at the application.

I'll have to check my property tax information then.

Thanks for everyone's help!!
