Aggie Engineer Seeking New Employment

I am a May 2005 and August 2006 graduate of Texas A&M University and hold Bachelor of Science degrees in both Agricultural Systems Management and Agricultural Engineering. I am also a registered EIT in Texas.

Since graduating I have worked in the engineering fields of air quality permitting/compliance reporting and more recently in land development. Unfortunately, I have suffered a lack of satisfaction in these two disciplines. I am looking for an opportunity to more fully utilize my engineering design and analytical skills. I also welcome the prospect of conducting fieldwork. Ultimately, I am seeking a career that provides the reward of a tangible work product, something that has not been afforded to me thus far in my career.

I consider myself to be an exceptional candidate for in-the-field project management where quick and innovative solutions are keys to the success of the project. I have always enjoyed the challenges associated with approaching a problem, then searching for and implementing the ideal solution. I have a hands-on approach and I appreciate the opportunity to see the fruits of my labor upon completion of a project.

I currently reside in Fort Worth, but am open to relocation to North, Central or West Texas, including the Texas Panhandle, or to Southwestern Oklahoma. I own and run a small cow/calf operation on a ranch near Spur, Texas and need to remain within close proximity.

Please contact me through the Personal Message function of TexasCHLforum.com to request copies of my resume and references.

Try the marine oil/gas-drilling industry. They can always use good Engineers, and Houston is a major location for them.

Transocean
Noble
Marathon
etc. etc.

From what I've been hearing and seeing in the news and on TV, this may not be the best of times to be looking for a job. It probably is also not a good time for your present employer to learn that you're dissatisfied and lookin'.

Been there, done that. :banghead:

If you graduated in '05/'06, you should be well on your way toward your P.E. I suggest you stay where you are, keep your head down and get that P.E. and then start a job search.

Just thought I'd kick this back to the top.

I found out last week that I'll be included in the next round of layoffs that are slated to happen on Wednesday, April 1st.

I'm looking for anything engineering-wise within 25 miles of NW Fort Worth, Texas.

Thanks!

Hey Aggie:

What's the status of your search/layoff situation? Praying for the Lord's guidance for your job situation. I know it's tough out there. Just stay diligent.

In the same boat...

Ft. Worth is a long way from here, but you never know what will happen if you can plug into a good network and see who bites...

I have plenty of good leads, but no one is hiring now...

That will change soon enough...It has too...

At the risk of sounding self-promoting, I just finished building a website called illgetajob.com. It gives you a chance to create an online resumé, which in itself is not unique, but you can also do a video resumé and post it on the site, which will give your listing some "pop." The site is rolling out in a couple of days, but you can join today if you like.

Membership is free.

We're going to be doing a lot of promotional work to grow the site, and we are particularly interested in attracting the interest of employers looking for employees. Anyway, I'm just putting that out there for your consideration. We've been working on this thing for about a month now, and although it isn't absolutely perfect yet, it is certainly usable at this point.
