I believe that Gunnery Sergeant Tom Highway had the same sentiment. IIRC, he said, "It is an unnatural act to jump out of a perfectly good aircraft."

I wear an Airborne tab on my uniform, but have no jump-wings. I love to tease my buddies that do have actual wings. Of course, they actually have something to brag about.

"Officially" blood wings are not allowed... but we'll just leave it at that.
Neither are "blood stripes" in the Marines, but...............
