Ha!
He won't serve a day and Chuckie won't even call for a vote on expulsion.

Re: Senator Menendez found guilty
Makes me wonder how much Pelosi is getting paid?"Hundreds of thousands of dollars of bribes, including gold, cash, and a Mercedes-Benz. This wasn't politics as usual; this was politics for profit," Williams said in a statement. "Because Senator Menendez has now been found guilty, his years of selling his office to the highest bidder have finally come to an end. Corruption isn't costless: it erodes public trust, and it undermines the rule of law. That's why we're so committed to fighting it, regardless of political party."
Prosecutors claimed Menendez, 70, "put his power up for sale" in exchange for the gold, envelopes stuffed with money, checks to his wife for a no-show job and a Mercedes-Benz convertible. The FBI found gold bars and more than $400,000 in cash stashed in places including jackets and shoes throughout his home, prosecutors said.

Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., will resign from the Senate after significant pressure from Democrats to do so following a guilty verdict in his federal corruption case.
A resignation letter from the senator was entered into the congressional record on Tuesday by Sen. Peter Welch, D-Vt., who was acting as chair of the Senate.
Menendez informed Gov. Phil Murphy, D-N.J., that he would be resigning after Aug. 20 in the correspondence, which was obtained by Fox News

Re: Senator Menendez found guilty
On this, he’s probably correct. Even a broken clock is right twice per day. Looking the other way, jus pt so the gov’t can "function," is exactly how the problem gets worse. If the consequences are not made very painful, the corruption will continue. He added that the jury's decision would "put at risk every member of the United States Senate in terms of what they think a foreign agent would be."
This speaks to the adage that, if the person wants the job, it automatically disqualifies them on moral grounds. This was less of a problem when the moral virtues played a more prominent part in our culture. But apparently, we’ve dispensed with those now, so we get what we get.
