Motorcycle Repairs

Does anyone know of a reputable motorcycle repair shop in the Houston/Katy area? I have a 2005 Suzuki Boulevard S40 (the old Savage 650) that needs some work done. I would prefer not to use a dealership if I can avoid it, just due to their labor prices and I am getting lazy and not wanting to haul it back from my daughter's house to the shops I know in San Antonio.

It was kind of a barn find. My brother had bought it for his wife to learn to ride. She took one ten minute ride and it has stood in their backyard since, about 18 months. I put a new battery in it but it still won't turn over. I am leaning towards it being the thumb starter switch being bad, but that is no conclusive yet.

I'll contact a couple of former Intruder owners in Sugarland and Cypress. In the meantime, the interlock switches are notorious for going bad. Try putting a jumper on the clutch and kickstand interlocks. Make sure the kill switch is in the run position. That one has caught me a couple of time. Good luck.

Sorry, both guys reported that their favorite shops are closed.

Thanks anyway. I will need to check it further this weekend, but a bad kill switch is definitely a possibility.

Thanks, I will have to check out that forum (as if I needed more way to kill time on the internet). And motorcycles unlimited looks like a shop I can use.

That bike in running condition is worth 1800-2500 if you are lucky. Just something to keep in mind before spending a lot to fix it. Here is a site with asking prices. Most of them have been listed more than a month. Not a great market for that bike right now. https://www.smartcycleguide.com/motorcy ... levard-s40
