Seems odd that nobody has posted today. Y'all must-a had a heck of a Christmas.

With the timing of Christmas on Saturday, Sunday has been pretty relaxing. Pretty nice. Didn’t go anywhere. Just immediate family.

Not much news. Neighbor whose a big 1911 guy, is concerned about crime here, decided to get a small 9 mm Glock to carry.

It’s a Glock, so not much to talk about except he can only get 4 in the magazine. I told him to use the loader, he said that was with the loader. He felt like a wimp, until his 40 yo son could only get 4 in.

Xiden’s not banning guns yet, so I’m in no pressure to get a precision bolt action rifle right away. I’ve now decided I’m not interested in a heavy rifle that I can’t easily carry.

All in all a good Christmas.

Good reason to not post. I'm glad everybody had a peaceful Christmas.
I worked the ER as security. We were swamped. Rooms full, and I was hauling chairs from offices to the waiting room. We still had people standing and waiting outside in their cars. Head nurse tolld me it was 90% positive covid tests. He was taking 5 minutes to stuff some pizza down his neck. He said, "They're all testing positive. H@!!, everybody in this building will test positive."
I felt like hammered dog meat when I got home. I kept my mask on to protect my immune compromised wife. Body aches, nose running, so tired I could barely stand, headache, and shivering.
I took a couple of tylenol and put on a heavy shirt. An hour later, I felt much better. I'm thinking it was just the extra exertion at work. We we're out of bottled water and a huge shipment came in that I had to put away. Then I was hauling chairs from one side of the building to another. Finally, it was 65 degrees in the waiting room. I've still got smell and taste, so I'm going with worn out and frozen as opposed to Covid.

I was wondering about how many folks were heading to hospital. Did it seem like a lot of them were sent home after being told they had it? This new variant is contagious as it get's. The MSM news channels have everybody that watches them scared out of their ever loving minds. It will be nice when they can start handing out a pill at first symptoms. Like Tamaflue. "Here are your pills. Go home and watch some more propaganda".

Several kids at my grand daughters school got it the week before Christmas break. So far none of them have been admitted to hospital. Last Tuesday my grand daughter started showing symptoms. She was coughing like crazy yesterday but today she hardly coughed at all. They are taking her to Doctor tomorrow just to be safe but she looks to have blown through it.

I've been busy at work, I'm contracting in Iraq now. I'll be thrilled when I finally have the brains to give this up

I’m security, not medical so take anything I say about medicine and procedures with a grain of salt. But here is my understanding. Our name is “Emergency Center and Hospital.” We have an “inpatient” side where we keep people for several days. These are hospital rooms as opposed to the exam rooms on the ER side. This is where we put folks [abbreviated profanity deleted] extended antibiotics or observations.
We have MRI, X-ray, and CAT scan capabilities, and many of the other emergency care facilities send patients to us for those services. As we are not affiliated with a major hospital, the Government doesn’t recognize us. We’ve recently been allowed to accept Tri-Care, but cannot file on Medicare or Medicaid. Though not sure, I get the impression that when the other Urgent care centers send somebody to us, we bill the UC and let them bill the insurance companies.
We don’t have ventilators nor an anesthesiologist or orthopedic specialists. No obstetrician. Folks needing those services will be sent on to the larger facilities.
Problem is, the worst I’ve ever seen for wait time is 2 1/2 hours. Usually it so fast the patient can’t get a good start on the paper work. (Less than 5 minutes) So we got folks who gave up after 8 hours (or more) at the large ERs coming to us. Folks want to come to us and often don't respond well to the news that they will have to go to other places.
We got a call tonight from a lady in labor. A newbie answered the phone and was going to let her come. The more experienced lady told her to advise the patient to go to another ER, as we couldn’t take somebody in labor.
This is a well thought of place, often praised on FB. Part of that is knowing our limitations and not making promises we can’t keep.

The 1911 guy neighbor has been exposed to Covid.

Saturday night he invited me to a regular breakfast out with retired alphabet guys ( most now teach gun courses for security guards) Sunday morning. I declined this time as I wanted to sleep in. One of the gentlemen at breakfast tested positive for Omachron that evening. So my neighbor is quarantined upstairs at his house.

Article today says twice as likely to get Omachrone if your boosted.

I have heard that contracting in the middle east pays very well. Had a friend once who did this for two years. He was a fireman in Forney. He was sending back 150K a year. Unfortunately for him it ended in his wife cheating and then divorcing him. After she blew all the money while he was away earning it. That was ten years ago when 150K was some very big money. I forget what he did over there but it was in Iraq.

Last time I talked to him was just after he got back. He joked that his first mistake was allowing her to buy an upper body upgrade. Got her too much attention.

Somehow I would never expect a Christian church in an area so hostile to Christians. Maybe there is hope for Iraq.

This is the northern part of the country in Kurdistan, it's significantly different from the rest of the country. There's a section of the nearby city with a bunch of different non-Muslim places of worship.

Haven't seen a synagogue yet though. That's probably pushing it a little too much

We have Christmas early so that son and family can be home on Christmas. To us it's just another day, plus being retired everyday is pretty much the same. I only have to know what day it is so I know what's on TV tonight.
