I had to give a brief education about the political party of Abraham Lincoln, the majority party of Congress during Johnson's term (the Congress that fought against the so-called "Black Codes" of states that sought to limit the civil rights of freedmen and eventually voted to impeach Johnson over it, at least in part), and the political party of the next four presidents, Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes, James Garfield, and Chester A. Arthur. It wasn't the Democratic party that led the government during emancipation, the Reconstruction, and Post-Reconstruction. Those were Republicans.
But what the heck. Who cares about the facts when you can be a lemming and believe all the pap coming out of the MSM and social media? Who cares about truth? Who cares about justice?
Up, up, and away!

DC Comics, the longtime publisher of Superman comics, now says the Man of Steel stands for “truth, justice … and a better tomorrow”
What has the 21st century wrought? On a forum that deals with a different subject matter, someone posted a week ago about Senator and, for a brief period, Vice President Henry Wilson (1812 - 1875). The poster was astounded and flabbergasted that Wilson was a Republican and yet a strong opponent of slavery! A Republican! He posted how unbelievable that was and how the guy must have faced never-ending political battles over that affiliation.Lee [Jim Lee, DC’s chief creative officer and publisher] declined to elaborate on why "the American way" was being discontinued. It has been linked to the character since the 1940s radio program "Adventures of Superman," according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The motto change was the second half of a recent 1-2 punch for fans of the traditional Superman. Last week came news that an upcoming Superman comic book will feature Jon Kent – son of Superman’s alter-ego, newspaper reporter Clark Kent – as a bisexual Superman.
