This Monday we set aside a national day of tribute and remembrance for all those who gave their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. We commemorate the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of our fallen heroes and their families, and we thank them for defense of the freedoms we cherish.

May we never forget the purpose behind the holiday, and may those freedoms so dearly protected ever be ever defended, from enemies both foreign and domestic.

From April 19, 1775 to May 31, 2021- remember the men and women who gave their lives for the American ideals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

May we never forget the heroes who gave their all for freedom and liberty!

Thank you to those fallen heroes. And to those now serving. We have our freedom because of your sacrifice

My cousin, Dallas Landon Padgett who was KIA 01/06/1969.

He was a combat medic first with MACV then with the Special Forces. He was killed running a mission with the Swift Boats on the Cambodian border.

I guy in my cousin's unit wrote a "historical fiction" book on the raids they never made into Cambodia. His commanding officer says he knew what would happen pages ahead the first time he read it.

I start having eye allergies as soon as it gets to the piccolo player.

Other than Taps played on a bugle, and maybe Amazing Grace on bagpipes, I cannot think of a better song for Memorial Day.
