Unflattering blog by Don Surber on George W. Bush.

To this day I’m not sure how I feel about the legacy of George W. Bush. He gave a really good speech after 911.
He did not handle Katrina and the aftermath well.
He won a war in Iraq, but didn’t have a plan for afterwards. He spent money like a drunken sailor during the mortgage crisis of 2007-2008. It may have kept us out of a depression. I liked his wife. But yeah afterwards he just faded away. His comments after he left, never seemed helpful.

Best thing that ever happened to him.

I actually liked Bush and thought he was maligned badly by the left. And the smartest thing he ever did (besides his choice of wife) was that when he was out of office, he refused to comment on anything Obama did or on politics at all. I really wish he had maintained that policy because I have lost a lot of respect for him lately.

Bush was a better choice than Al Gore or John F. Kerry.
He would be considered an elder statesman had he kept his yap shut about Trump like he did Obama.
Now he is seen by both sides as a political opportunist or turncoat.
He did it to himself.
