I am agreeing here, I cannot see this mans life ending well. He has made the news again. This time for tweeting a nude revenge porn picture of his former girlfriend. His comment with the photo is that "she will sleep with anyone" yeah he is probably right. Not being finished he manages to also include a racial slur.sjfcontrol wrote:I believe George is damaged. Well, if she'll sleep with him, then he's right. What a tool. But even a tool has a right to self-defense. And with that, this is my last ever post in this thread....which has gone on way too long.philip964 wrote:I am agreeing here, I cannot see this mans life ending well. He has made the news again. Well, if the event horizon in determining that Zimmerman acted in self defense is only the moments of the the scuffle, then - I guess - he defended himself. If you take the entire event horizon, from first contact with Trayvon Martin to now, then it's apparent that George Zimmerman is a trigger-happy hothead who provoked the situation and he shoul be in prison... he will be soon, I'm sure. The Annoyed Man wrote:Well, if she'll sleep with him, then he's right. OK, fine. If you ever have to use your weapon in self defense, we will ask the jury to consider everything that you've done in your entire life and judge you on that, not just the one event that occasioned the use of your firearm.Breny414 wrote:Well, if the event horizon in determining that Zimmerman acted in self defense is only the moments of the the scuffle, then - I guess - he defended himself. I expect they would, and that's fine. But under Texas law Trayvon Martin had the right to not retreat - and all he had were his wits and fists. And Zimmerman, if he is cc'ing in Texas should not provoke the situation further... and he was instructed as such by the 911 operator.baldeagle wrote:OK, fine. Sorry, but you don't understand use of force laws. Even if you provoke a confrontation, that does not justify the other party escalating the conflict to deadly force. (Remember, even if you believe the worst that's been said about Zimmerman, all he did was follow Martin and possibly confront him verbally.) Once the other party escalates the violence, you retain your right to self defense and have the right to use deadly force if a reasonable person would do so in the same circumstances. IOW, if deadly force is justified when someone is pounding your skull into concrete, then Zimmerman's actions were justified. His behavior prior to that moment is irrelevant as is any supposed racism he supposedly had toward Martin.Breny414 wrote:I expect they would, and that's fine. What Zimmerman did in the situation was justifiable under use of force laws, and the jury rightly found that to be true, even though some of the jurors were upset because they felt he contributed to the outcome unnecessarily.
If provocation justified the use of deadly force, the police could shoot every protester that spits in their face or calls them nasty names.

Well, I guess we will just have to disagree as to who felt threatened enough to use deadly force. But Zimmerman is the patron saint of lost causes and I think that's enough said.
good day, sir
