Well said. At least you are mature enough to not post profanities and such as other members who have done so early in this thread and then deleted their picture or meme or whatever it was . Class act soccer dad and well written post. Your opinion and thoughts are well respected. A few of these members should take a page out your book because obviously they weren’t brought up with respect. It’s either their way or no way and it’s shameful. Their liberal tendencies have shown greatly in this thread .Soccerdad1995 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 18, 2018 12:31 pm Count me in as one combat veteran who finds the anti-American kneelers extremely offensive. I fought for their right to speak their minds and not be punished by the government for doing so. That is their right as free citizens. A right which is documented in our Constitution. This is a fundamental difference between conservatives and liberals. Conservatives respect the right of people to say things they find offensive and even hateful. While liberals try to shut down any speech they find offensive through the use of violence.
But while I believe people have the right to express their opinions, that doesn't mean I agree with every hateful thing that some of my fellow citizens choose to do and say. And I will not support companies that condone and even champion such offensive, hateful behavior. Just like I wouldn't support companies that championed offensive hateful speech against racial minorities or other groups. That is my right as a free citizen. I won't charge on the field and assault athletes who are disrespecting the men and women who died to protect their freedoms, like liberals would do if the speech was offensive to them. I will simply find other companies to support with my entertainment dollars, and with my time.

Re: Not watching the Superbowl
I heard Eric Dickerson on a radio program this morning. He is essentially shilling for a socialistic policy for former NFL players. Erik is definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer. He is not “rich” according to him. However, his net value is listed at10 mil while the average American is listed at 300K. Hey Erik, join the real world.

For me, it was the electronic freeway signs. They were clearly hinting at super bowl weekend. This year, I'm fortunately not forced into a venue with it playing, so I'm just doing my own thing. I just ordered some Beretta parts, so that makes me a happy camper for the evening.

Same here. Stores were insane.
We are watching movies tonight. I recently picked up The Matrix, Deadpool, Serinity and John Wick in 4k. So we are wringing out the 4k tv and enjoying NOT watching the game.

Good one! Truthfully, the game means so little to me, i’m not sure when it is. If I had to guess, i’d say it was this weekend. But Saturday or Sunday?anygunanywhere wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2018 10:43 am What is this NFL and Supper Bowl of which you speak?
Not sure. I don’t watch TV. Got more interesting things to do. I don’t have time for it.

I watched it...off and on. But mainly off. Just checked in periodically to see what the score was. YAWN.
But I DID watch...
Puppy Bowl 15. I found it, well, entertaining. I never realized all the pups shown are actually rescue dogs from around the country. I have to admit I enjoyed it. Not so much THE game( YAWN)

Funny bought Matrix and Serenity recently on 4 k, already have them on DVD and Blue Ray, but wanted on 4K and having it on digital and on sale sealed the deal. I never thought having it on digital would be so nice, I never thought I would be so lazy that I would think it was a chore to stick a disc in player, but I am.

Re: Not watching the Superbowl
I' haven't watched an NFL game in a couple of years because of the kneeling issues. A friend told me they weren't doing the kneeling thing so much any more.. I am a native born New Englander. We as a group have many faults, but we almost all grow up loving our home teams. I watched them Last week fight for the division title and last night fight and struggle on one of the toughest games ever.
There was no kneeling all the players that the camera shot looked pretty respectful
A pipless Gladys Knight nailed the star spangled banner.
Half time show. What halftime show? I took the time to step outside open a Stout Porter, light up a cigar and unwind for a few after a very tense half.
Noticed that there were more Patriot fans in the stands than Ram fans. LA doesn't really support their teams. Life in New England is pretty miserable especially in the winter, Sports is one of the few things to give them Joy. Glad they get their moment.
