Exactly! But the positive test, symptoms or not, have a huge impact on his ability to campaign at a very crucial point in the process. MSM is already pumping the angle of him not wearing a mask. What a bunch of jerks!
"Pumping," or not, it is a fact. Leadership carries risks, if you do in fact, lead from the front, but this was a high-risk decision.
No it was not. A mask WOULD NOT have prevented him getting Covid. A mask is at best thought to possibly prevent one from spreading it. Again! A MASK DOES NOT PREVENT YOU FROM GETTING COVID!

Assuming he recovers he could use this as a "pivot point" and say now that he's been through it, he has a better understanding of it and how to manage it going forward... that would take away joe's best argument against him. (even though joe is way overboard on pandemic mgmt- lots of old people are more cautious vs less)
Testing positive does not mean you are 'sick' and have to recover. You can test positive and remain syptom free (asymptomatic) thus not 'sick'. I actually hope they remain asymptomatic and the public will realize that covid is not a death sentence.

I agree in part and hope they don't get symptoms.. but being sick and being symptomatic are different. You can be sick and not symptomatic, but you are technically still sick and your body will recover. (even if so mild you don't feel it)

For some reason I thought being sick is being symptomatic.

Why cancel the debates? With today's technology there's no need to have them in the same room anyway.

The only reason I'd cancel is because apparently the next moderator used to work for Joe Biden. How stupid does the left think the American people are? Well, perhaps 50% of the people really are that stupid.

:iagree: As I've said before...I know many people who said they had "covid-like illness or symptoms" in November/December 2019. My opinion FWIW is that there are far more people who would test "positive" because they were exposed to the virus, their immune system did its job and fought it off.

The testing has been documented to be going far beyond the normally acceptable multiplication levels to determine a positive result. That's why the NYT and other sources have said that up to 90% of positive tests may actually be negative.

So far we have had three customers that had Covid. One, he and his wife both had antibodies. He said he never felt any symptoms but his wife had a cold that wouldn't stop for a week and got tested. That was when they found covid and tested him. He said her cold went away in a couple more days. Another said she had what felt like the flu for a couple weeks and then recovered. Said she felt really tired and run down for a couple more weeks. Her husband tested positive but never showed symptoms of any kind. My bet is that there are many folks that have already been exposed and never knew they had it.

Just saw that on Fox. I did not pick up on them saying he was lethargic.

Dr. Atlas, Chief of Staff Meadows: There is No Reason to Panic About Trump's Diagnosis
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavl ... s-n2577352
Dr. Scott Atlas, a special adviser on coronavirus to President Trump, said Friday he expects the president and first lady to make a “complete, full and rapid recovery” after the two tested positive for COVID-19, adding, “there is zero reason to panic.”

During an exclusive interview with Fox News, Atlas said the novel coronavirus is an infection “that is very difficult to avoid.”

“It is no surprise that people get the infection, even with precautions,” Atlas said. “I anticipate a complete and full and rapid recovery back to normal after his necessary confinement period. I anticipate he’ll be back on the road and in full swing.”

Atlas called the president a “super vigorous man,” adding that he has “never seen anyone with more energy and more vigor, at any age, but particularly at his age.”

“He is a very, very healthy guy,” Atlas said. “And the overwhelming majority of people, even at his age, do fine with this. He is very healthy, and so I anticipate the same for him.”

When asked about the first lady, Atlas also maintained that “she is not a high-risk person at all and I anticipate she will do perfectly well.”

Meanwhile, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows gave an update on President Trump's condition and status to the press Friday morning.

"They remain in good spirits, the president does have mild symptoms," Meadows said. "His first question to me this morning is how is the economy doing how are the stimulus talks."

Yes, sir, by the CDC's own guidelines, you are correct. Only a properly worn mask DESIGNED to exclude virus particles will aid in prevention for the wearer. The other masks people are urged to wear are to help prevent THEM from potentially spreading it to others via droplets if they are infected but do not know it.

Masks are designed to make my nose itch so that every second I have it on is just a pure misery!

If wearing a cheap mask prevents the spread of Covid by an infected person, and an N95 or similar mask prevents the wearer from contracting (and spreading) Covid the end result should be far fewer infections if everyone wore a mask of some sort. So how is asking everyone to wear a mask a bad thing?

Asking or recommending is fine. Requiring under penalty of law (fine or jail) is a bad thing.

Just stay at least 6 feet apart works better than masks though.
