So...you didn’t get Stimulus check...

If anyone wants to decline the ”stimulus check”, just endorse it and send it back to the Treasury Department. Very simple.
Otherwise, what was the original topic here?

We haven't received one yet. I just filed my 2019 taxes earlier today and don't even know if we are supposed to get a stimulus check or not. If it does show up ... bonus! If not, oh well

This is the original topic. It was set up so folks would have a place to complain about the stimulus checks. Maybe longtooth can have his thread topic, "what are you spending the money on", back.
Some folks on that thread got jealous over folks getting some extra cash and derailed it.

Re: So...you didn’t get Stimulus check...
It all depends on your income from 2018 or if u filed it 2019.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/zackfriedm ... c45d30254fLet’s start with the bad news. If your income is greater than these amounts, you will not get a stimulus check:
Single Filer: $99,000
Joint Filer (no children): $198,000
Now, the good news. If your adjusted gross income is lower than these numbers, you can qualify for a stimulus check of $1,200:
Single Filer: $75,000
Head of Household: $112,500
Married/Joint Filer: $150,000

That would work if they weren't just planning to direct deposit into accounts.
Deplorable lunatic since 2016
Re: So...you didn’t get Stimulus check...
I have a legit question, my grandparents only draw social security and have a little bit of rent money from a small property they own. They don’t make very much at all. Will the elderly who don’t / can’t work get one of these checks? I wasn’t sure since they already get money every month from social security. I asked my grandfather today if he was going to receive it and he didn’t know.

Then just write them a personal check in the same amount (less cost of postage) and send it in.

We plan on giving ours to a couple of grandkids who work, or did, in restaurants.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 4:32 pmThis is the original topic. That is a cool thing to do. I bet they could use it right about now.Armybrat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 5:29 pmWe plan on giving ours to a couple of grandkids who work, or did, in restaurants.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 4:32 pmThis is the original topic. The IRS is suppose to have a web site set up for folks on SS that did not file to register so they can receive a check.cmgee67 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 5:27 pm I have a legit question, my grandparents only draw social security and have a little bit of rent money from a small property they own. Re: So...you didn’t get Stimulus check...
You should be able to go here and enter their info and check. You can also enter bank info so they get it quicker:cmgee67 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 5:27 pm I have a legit question, my grandparents only draw social security and have a little bit of rent money from a small property they own. Thank you guys for the information I’ll make sure to get this to them. They Make it okay but ever since they retired it’s definitely been harder on them. Anything helps for sure

Re: So...you didn’t get Stimulus check...
My son and daughter in law got theirs in the bank today. My wife and I did not. When I try to track it on the IRS’s website, I get this message:
Like most everyone else, I have serious doubts about the constitutionality of all of this. OTH, I’m not gonna lie .... I could really use the money right now. They’re saying that if you don’t get it direct deposited this week, that the checks will be mailed some time between the end of April and and next September. Legitimate or not, if you’re really hurting now, getting a check in September isn't going to be much help at all. Beyond that, the inflation caused by pumping all that cash into the system is going to devalue the dollars still held by those who haven’t yet received their stimulus payments, pushing them deeper into the poor house.
The whole thing is messed up.
When I click on that link, here’s what I get:Payment Status Not Available
According to information that we have on file, we cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time.
For more information on the eligibility rules, see our Frequently Asked Questions page.
None of this tells me anything. I haven’t filed my 2019 tax return yet, but I DID file my 2018 tax return. As it happens, I broke even in 2018, and neither paid additional taxes, nor received a refund. So there was never a direct deposit from the IRS to my checking account for my 2018 filing. That said, they have made direct payments to that account in previous years... so I don’t know what the hang up is. In their FAQ, they specifically tell you not to phone the IRS to find out the status of your stimulus payment. Why am I getting "Payment Status Not Available?"
In certain cases, the Get My Payment app will be unable to tell you the status of your payment. You may receive this message for one of the following reasons:
You can check the app again to see whether there has been an update to your information. Get My Payment data is updated once per day, so there’s no need to check back more frequently.
- If you are not eligible for a payment (see IRS.gov on who is eligible and who is not eligible)
- If you are required to file a tax return and have not filed in tax year 2018 or 2019.
- If you recently filed your return or provided information through Non-Filers: Enter Your Payment Info on IRS.gov. Your payment status will be updated when processing is completed.
- If you are a SSA or RRB Form 1099 recipient, SSI or VA benefit recipient – the IRS is working with your agency to issue your payment; your information is not available in this app yet.
