I hope B.H.O. doesn't see the video... I'd hate to have to live thru a leftist Assault Shoe Ban.

Knowing as I do how that is one of the worst possible insults in the Arab world, I'd have picked up the shoe. Then I'd have gone down into the crowd and beaten the heck out of the guy and then made him lick his own shoe right there in front of everybody.

I dunno about that. We have seen some pretty strange picks for Prez lately...

Some of the major league scouts will probably be asking him to try out for a pitching spot.

The guy's got a great arm with excellent control.

This shows to me how fast things can happen. When I first watched the video it felt like forever until someone acted to stop the guy.

I'm thinking, how did one of the USSS not bust a cap in this dude as soon as that first shoe went flying by the prez's head????
I guess they strip search everyone before letting them in, anyway, so they figured the shoe couldn't have been that bigga deal?

I don't know about the CatBox, i mean sand box..., but here in Texas, I'm pretty sure chunking a shoe at someone is assault, and/or grounds for a tail whippin'.
FWIW, IIRC, AFAIK, FTMP, IANAL. YMMV.

Nice reflexes. Did Bush play varsity dodgeball at Yale?

You gotta' wonder about a culture where throwing a shoe is only an insult to the throwee but blowing up his family, friends, pets, etc. and yourself is a guaranteed trip for the thrower to Allahville. :headscratch

Prez. Bush handled it well, just joke about it and move on. I guess we shouldn't expect too much gratitude for many of them in the Middle East hate each other so why not hate us too? I agree that Bush will be seen in a more positive light as time goes on, at least if we can pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan as victors that is. I remember Reagan not being liked too much too...

If the journalist would have done that pre 2003, he would now be dead. I doubt if he would have made it out of the room under Sadam. The journalist's family woudl also have not made it another day.

Do you really think that saying "we are nicer than saddam" is how any situation should be judged?

"Sure I cut off your pinkie, but that other guy was going to cut off your thumb" doesn't make people think about how nice you are.

No, not at all, just pointing out a the fact that they are now free-er. With freedom comes responsiblilty, some here in the US have a problem handling their freedom responsibly.

Just an observation.
