I have served as an election official in dozens of elections. I always viewed it as an adventure when i was given a form of ID other than a DL. I often had passports other things. Sometimes the normal lookup would not work and I had to creatively find how the registration process had actually stored the citizen's name. Like everything else, the attitude of the person means everything. I worked the election job knowing that I was there to serve the people, not rule them. I worked hard to make the experience for them as pleasant as possible, even if a problem developed. Unfortunately, the days can be long for the workers (5:30am to 7pm) and it easy to feel overly tired. But I suspect that the physical fatigue is less of a factor than a person's underlying attitude. There seems to be a lot of unhappy people and that shows up in about everything that they do.Grayling813 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 2:01 pm Wife and I voted this morning. Took an hour from getting out of the car to getting back into the car.
Lady checking me in didn’t want to take my LTC as ID because she didn’t want to have to type in the information instead scanning the DL.
I just politely pointed at the “valid forms of ID” document next to her and said it is valid ID, so she reluctantly typed my information in.
