Re: covid shots
No issues for me. I had both shots earlier in the year and the booster a month or so ago. Other than a sore arm (which I get with any shot), I was fine. I have had a couple of friends that got both the booster and the flu shot at the same time and they had issues where they were sick for 2-3 days. Even before they told me this, I would have never suggested getting both shots at the same time.

Re: covid shots
My wife had reaction, as did my mother in law. One of my wife's Drs said it actually pretty common- they just don't publicize it and many of her colleagues treat symptoms as an independent thing and don't report the relationship to the shot.
I fear that there is a ton of valuable [and damaging] info not being shared with the public.
I'm still waiting for the study that compares the effectiveness of the covid shots vs natural immunity. All the news is unvaxxed this and that.... but the Dr's we know are saying their load is vaxxed/boosted people, or unvaxxed that never had covid... further stating that reinfections are rare.

Re: covid shots
It seems you have the same suspicions about natural immunity I have. I think it is a sad state of affairs we cannot trust our government to be honest with us. The government is far to invested in keeping this thing going as long as possible. My bet is that democrats are shooting for another mass mail in ballot election so they can stuff the ballot boxes again.flechero wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 10:18 am My wife had reaction, as did my mother in law. Re: covid shots
Since I got the Covid shot, I've realized that Joe Biden gets a bad rap and we should be nicer to him.
After the 2nd shot I understood that the pharma companies are maligned and should not have their profits taxed.
Wonder how I'll feel after the booster?

THanks for that link, interesting read and subsequent read through it's links.jerry_r60 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 11:33 amHere is some of that info you mentioned you are looking for.flechero wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 10:18 am My wife had reaction, as did my mother in law. THey still don't give any real data on effectiveness of nat. immunity.
Every time I read through the studies and the cite's I come to the conclusion that the initial reports are cherry picked. From on of the actual studies cited in that link
The studies say that vax after infection is better but never gives you full picture. One says you significantly enhance your protected with both natural and vax but never gives a natural rate. So is it worth the risks to go from a 0.0X chance to a 0.00x chance? I think not. Especially since omnicron is less severe and my response to the original covid was very mild.few real-world epidemiologic studies exist to support the benefit of vaccination for previously infected persons.
Re: covid shots
It looks to me like they do actually have real data on effectiveness of natural immunity. Off of my first link here is a cited link. From that you can read summary conclusions etc but as you work through it it cites the specific studies (multiple, and the findings from those).flechero wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 2:13 pmTHanks for that link, interesting read and subsequent read through it's links.jerry_r60 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 11:33 amHere is some of that info you mentioned you are looking for.flechero wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 10:18 am My wife had reaction, as did my mother in law. you can see the results in the tables and then the citations to the specific studies. You can then go to those studies and see methodology, data, results etc.
It seems the data is out there it just takes some digging to get down to the source studies if you don't trust the study aggegation done by Johns Hopkins. There are multiple studies cited for immune response efficacy and duration and the same for vaccines.
The studies are also from multiple countries. Here is a link to one of the citations:

Do to the nature of the beast, I don't think any of these things are perfect but as each of these tests takes a slightly different angle a picture gets formed for the scientific / medical community.

Re: covid shots
One problem with believing any "released" studies is that the government has their boot on the back of the necks of any Doctor that does not play along.

Re: covid shots
Moderna twice plus booster.
Sore arm after first.
Sore arm and joint and back pain plus flu symptoms 24 hrs after second shot, lasted 24 hours then fine.
Sore arm flu like symptoms, but not as bad as second shot 24 hrs after booster lasted 24 hours.
I have avoided playing soccer since then or anything that might be considered exercise.

I had a dream about that once when i was a young pollywog, I was very little then, but it may have been before i was born, but I enjoyed it.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 10:04 am Did I mention growing a tail? I am also beginning to be able to breath under water.

Thanks for sharing your encouraging antibody numbersNotRPB wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 9:37 am got 1st moderna with 1st responder group in January, 2nd shot Feb 4th, boosted Oct 22
Day after 2nd shot during February ice storm. i had been standing over a portable gas heater & felt warm, so i took an ibuprofin & realized the gas heater was warm too. my arm ached a while after both1st & 2nd shot. They said to exercise the arm... that was why it ached, i do not like exercise.
I am part of the TexasCares U.T.study and my antibodies were off the chart protecting me over 2,500 per ml in Sept, 8 moths after the 2nd dose, but i got a booster in October anyway because after EACH of the 1st 2 shots i had more energy like A VITAMIN B-12 , cleaned the house the car mowed the grass, even took a bath once, I got up from the lazyboy to fetch the remote control etc. ...Now, over a month after 3rd Shot Oct booster, i just got results back on second antibody test and i'm still "off the chart protected" over 2,500 antibodies per ml (that's as high as it measures) So, I'm glad I did it & can still pick my nose without washing my hands, that sanitizer hurt when i rubbed my eyes
Since i actually felt better more energy etc after vaccines, I also later got a shingles Shingrex shot last year which hurt way more than the Moderna.
LOL on the sanitizer!
My first Shingrix was a non-event, other than a quite painful injection. Very little arm soreness, although I did hit the gym later that day. Due for the 2nd next week.
I am not a lawyer. This is NOT legal advice.!

Re: covid shots
Holy cow! The Doctor talked me into the Shingrex since I am 60. I agree with you! That one hurt my arm for 3 days! The second round they recommended was even worse.RoyGBiv wrote: ↑Fri Dec 24, 2021 7:59 amThanks for sharing your encouraging antibody numbersNotRPB wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 9:37 am got 1st moderna with 1st responder group in January, 2nd shot Feb 4th, boosted Oct 22

Re: covid shots
i still carry 8 oz. of sanitizer in my extra pocket (Guyabarra shirt, stopped smoking in 2011, had a spare pocket) so i can sanitize store door handles... i dunno who nose picked before grabbing public door handles...besides myself.
The year before covid hit, I just happened to have bought hundreds of 8oz sanitizers & put 3 bottles per pew at church because we shake hands a lot.... still have them & I refill them and my pocket one. My local church hasn't had deaths from it, pastor & his wife had covid,(Pastor got vaxxed after recovering) his sisters & their husbands had it, & 2 out of 4 with covid at the church 20 miles north of our church died including my Pastor's mom & their deacon who were against vaccinating. Pastors mom died after coming off ventilator, deacon died at home (Deacons wife recovered without ventilator in hospital) A week after their deaths, the moboclonal antibody infusions came to town...
