I have a Dropbox account and I share several folders, but I didn't realize you can make a folder public.

I think you just share a link to a particular file. Anyone with that link can access that file. I use it fairly regularly. Once you move or delete the file, the link becomes obsolete. This works for me when I need to share are large file but do not want to establish a shared folder. Also, it is much easier than trying to email large files.

mojo is certainly correct.

Charles, you can certainly make an entire folder public but you don't even need to do that. I have no folder named "s". It's all virtual in the Dropbox cloud. All you need to do is browse over to the file and right click and select "Share Dropbox link" and then paste it here like this:

The folder remains private and all you guys get is a link that will allow you to see the photo at about 50% of the full resolution. I save the full resolution public folders for close friends and family.
