RIP to my partner

#1

Post by texanjoker »

I had to put my now retired police k9 down Saturday. He was one bad dog that worked from 2004 - 2011 doing both patrol and narcotics. We worked shootings, riots, pursuits and all the crazy stuff that goes with working a patrol k9. To some he was just a dog, to anybody that knows what a K9 does, he was my partner. One photo below is from work the other from retirement after we were fishing, or he was scaring all the fish away in the creek.

RIP :patriot:

Very sorry to see this. It's hard losing a buddy and companion like this. Condolences.

Sorry for your loss, I know it can be tough. I lost my Murphy Saturday, not a partner but a long time member of my family.

I am sorry for your loss Texasjoker. Until just recently I was not familiar with the Rainbow Bridge. It is a nice thought for animal lovers.

Sorry for your loss. We are dog people, too.

Looks like a good boy and a bit of a trouble maker. Those are always fun. Glad you were there for him. :tiphat:

TJ, my heart hurts just reading about your loss because I know what you're going through.

I've been there too, and it is not like losing a family member, it is losing a family member.

I'm certain your partner was comforted by your presence and hugs as he started on the path where you couldn't follow, and I'm equally certain he'll be waiting for you when it's time for you to make the same journey.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My Bandit passed away in August and I'm still heartbroken. Their love and loyalty is unconditional.

Condolences ... I'm not a "dog person" but I LOVE K-9s. The relationship between K-9 and handler is amazing and inspiring. Love watching a pair work together, having watched quite a few exhibitions at National Night Out events and a few who were on the job.

Sorry for your loss. I am similarly close to putting our GSD down, not sure she'll even last until Christmas.
