Why Do So Many Repost The Original Post?

I can at times understand the re-posting of an original post with an accompanying response, but most of the time re-posting the original isn't necessary.

If a question is asked, why isn't a simple answer adequate? Most especially if the response is immediately responded to after the question.

I also see multiple re-posts ad nauseam in a single response.

Why do this?

Very few times do I see such re-posting help clarify, if anything, re-posting wily nily seems to muddy things up.

I am glad you brought this up. I don't much mind the folks who re-post the entire post and respond. I get crazy about folks who seem to get a sick kick out of taking one line of an entire rant out of context and addressing it in a way that has no resemblance to what was actually posted. It is as if they are getting a cheap thrill by playing with the words of a post. Sometimes it feels like a person has suddenly found themselves in a "big gun" contest. My goodness! It usually results in a completely off topic direction taking place.
