How many of you also are RVers. If there are enough of us, maybe the moderators would allow a thread for us to discuss favorite parks, carrying while RVing, and maybe even arrange some meet-ups. What do you think?

We had a 38ft 5th wheel trailer until about a year ago. Got tired of driving around a 1 ton truck. Would love to find a 20ft to play around with.

I don't really want anything that big, but a 20 to 25 footer would be nice specially with a couple of slides

We have a 36 foot 5th wheel. We used to travel some where every Monday, but because of my health we do not get to go much anymore.

I would be willing to hit a State Park sometime for a meet up with members. I just need to know quite a bit in advance.

I don't RV, but I did just finish a 10,000+ mile road trip through 30 states over a 2 month period. It ignited some kind of camping thing in me... I've never felt this way before. For some reason I WANT to go outdoors, which is... weird...

I'm planning to go to the Davis Mountains sometime in the next few months.

I'm in. My wife and I have a motor home and drag a car. We did a 2,400 mile trip to South Dakota in August but we generally camp in TX and OK.

It might be nice to find an RV park where there is a decent range nearby. I have a buddy in VA who leads a square dance club that is all RVers and they find campgrounds with buildings for their dancing. There is no reason why we couldn't try to same thing but with gun ranges.

Their setup is that they camp once a month and each member takes a turn setting up with a campground. Even it we started at once a quarter to judge interest, it might be neat to try.

Has anyone stayed in Beavers Bend State Park in Broken Bow, OK. You can set up right on the river. They put trout in at the dam every Thursday.

My wife and I are RV'ers, we have young children and typically stay local (Galveston, Waller, New Braunfuls) but we would be willing to meet up somewhere, school and work scheduling allowed...

My wife and I regret not doing this when our children are at home so we have taken advantage of another opportunity with our grandchildren.

We have a travel trailer and love to camp with our family. We recently sold a Palomino and purchased a Keystone Outback. We like camping in West Texas, New Mexico and Arkansas (Ouachita state park).

Mrs. Anygun and I live in our 2001 32' fifth wheel during the week and go to our home in La Grange on weekends.

When our boys were growing up we visited many Texas State Parks including Garner, Kerrville, Balmorhea, and others. Big Bend is awesome if you go when it is not hot. When we lived in California we RVed all over California, Nevada, and Oregon and made the trip California to Texas and back three times.

Based on our travels, Texas has the best state park system hands down.

Our favorite RV park ever was in Virginia City Nevada. Wild mustangs used to graze right next to the RV. Beautiful scenery.

Some of the parks in the Sierra Nevadas near Donner Summit and Truckee were great too. Don't eat at the A&W Root Beer Burger joint on the California side of I-80 between Sacramento and the summit. You will fill your black water tank. Trust me on this.

Once we retire we will get rid of the current RV. She wants to get another one but I am balking. If I can find one that does everything from the recliner I might change my mind. Flushing gray and black water tanks gets old.

We've been to Beaver's Bend and it a wonderful setting. The bad part was that the corrupt camp hosts violated all of the State's rules and ran the park as their own fiefdom. Long term residents (the State max is 14 days) had taken over all of the river view sites and with no reservation system, you run the risk of driving there and not being able to get in at all. This is in sharp contrast to Lake Murray, another OK State Park, where hosts were not out of control. There were a lot of complaints and I hope that the issue has been resolved.

In addition to the fishing, it is fun to hear the horns sound when they open up the water on the dam and the river rises significantly in just a few minutes.

We've never seen a similar problem in the Texas State Parks.
