Very nice TAM. Congratulations! ![tiphat :tiphat:](./images/smilies/tiphat.gif)
Well, TAM's going skeet shooting this weekend.
I might be willing to spot him 1-2 clays on account of the anniversary, but if he handles that shotgun anything like he does his handguns all bets are off.

The current Ms. Allen and I will celebrate 24 years of connubial bliss on Sunday, and it took us only 24 years to do that. We will celebrate enthusiastically.
In my first marriage, we had ~12 years of bliss give or take but it took 20 years!

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

Congrats and many happy returns to you and your better half. Divided Attention and I just celebrated our 25th a couple of weeks ago. Looking forward to the next 25, good Lord willing...

I know and share the feeling. Mrs. Oldgringo, my best friend and traveling companion, and I will observe our 29th anniversary of mostly wedded bliss sometime next month.
Congratulations!

We actually had a pretty low-key day because of business meetings off and on all day. But this Saturday we're have dinner reservations at Lavendou in Dallas—an excellent French restaurant with an emphasis on Provençal cuisine.JMPJr wrote:Congratulations to you both! Congrats TAM...I consider 20+ years with one woman a monumental achievement! We just knocked out year 23 and it isn't always easy. Somedays you just have to make a choice to stay married, but I'm glad I did. Whomever said it gets easier is right! The longer we co-exist, the more we enjoy serving one another! It is worth it every day!

Re: 25 years today....
And that there is the money quote. Both of us having a divorce in the past, we knew what it took to screw up a marriage.......but we didn't know how to make a marriage perfect. I don't think anybody really does. Certainly, having a common religious faith in which we are both intimately involved has gone a long way toward making the imperfect better. But there have been days when we just chose to stay married.Blindref757 wrote:Somedays you just have to make a choice to stay married...
