Hmmmm. A trained and armed FBI agent should have just been a good witness? Really? I would think and hope that these would be the exact type of people we would WANT to get involved!

The first thing you learn in off duty officer survival is to be a good witness first. This case is a perfect example. It wasn't even a real robbery. In some of the courses I have been to they show videos of many officers that were either killed off duty or in one case the deputies daughter was shot when he took action, so yes I'll stand by my statement
That is a good example of why people should also be a good witness vs. just running into something blind..

They need to show they are doing something. The liberals mindset is that if they think good thoughts all will be well. It should have been a complete controlled situation. Done with volunteers...... not a Candid Camera stunt.

it could have looked like this:

My favorite part is "We have enough robberies at gas stations that most people aren't going to assume it's a mock robbery".

Is *anyone* going to ASSUME it's a mock robbery?! That's a direct quote from the LT, a 28yr veteran of the force. Yow!

Wow...that reporter! "rlol"
Not a ton of applicants for Detroit "on the scene" reporting I guess. "rlol"
Honestly, I liked him... Refreshing (when sober  )
I was intrigued by the reporter so of course I googled.
While a colorful character in many ways Charlie LeDuff really is a reporter. As a reporter at the NY Times he contributed to a Pulitzer Prize winning series on race relations, and was accused of multiple instances of plagiarism.
LeDuff worked on an experimental project for The Times with the Discovery Channel and produced a show called Only in America, which featured participatory journalism where LeDuff played on a semi-professional football team, raced with thoroughbreds, performed in a gay rodeo, joined the circus, preached in Appalachia, joined the elite world of New York models and played one play on special teams for the af2 football club, the Amarillo Dusters.

On July 14, 2006, LeDuff starred in and narrated a documentary on the British channel, BBC Four, called United Gates of America in which he experienced life with the mostly-white, Christian, and middle-class citizens of a gated community Canyon Lake in Riverside County, California.

As of December 2, 2010, LeDuff is a reporter for WJBK-TV, the Fox affiliate in Detroit, Michigan. In 2012, a YouTube video of his reporting on Meals on Wheels became one of the top links of all time on the social network Reddit

The tragic part is Darwin was on a coffee break.
The city is not a concrete jungle. It is a human zoo.
