All,

Looks like we have some interest... As to date how about some time toward the end of March? Maybe March 23rd? Saturday.

I will call ASC and see if we can obtain some space and what format it would be. So I am taking it that the majority would like for this to be a shooting event?

Shooting or good BBQ, I'm in either way.

If I travel I'm always back Friday night, so March 23 works for me.

Just got back from the DFW get together and wondered if the Houston version had died? Any updates forthcoming?

My apologies things got hectic and I let it slip. Are you up for another go at it? Maybe sometime mid May? I think April may already be sliding away and booked for most people. Then we have the NRA convention the first week of May. Unless we wanted to do something around that as well??? Just fishing for ideas.

Thanks

I understand completely. Most anytime is good for me. The DFW meet had rifle/pistol shooting before lunch and then clay sports after. Skeet was the shoot du jur. Elm Fork has a picnic area where they allowed grilling as long as they were tended. I assume the difficuly is finding a range that can accommodate a group, hopefully large. I'll keep watching here for any news/posts. BTW I didn't try the "Jumpy House" :biggrinjester:

I just saw this thread (somehow missed it first time around).

I'm up for trying for a get together mid May.

I live in West Houston but could make just about anywhere we decided work.

Thanks.

Not sure what American Shooting Centers offer in terms of group facilities (both shooting and picnic type) but some of the guys here at work say it's a nice place to shoot.

American Shooting Centers looks like a very nice facility. They list "new patio" at the skeet and trap range and "Corporate venues". One issue I see is their $15 range fee includes only one gun and each additional gun is $5.00. Many in the group at DFW,including me, had several firearms and we let other people shoot them. I took 5 pistols and had my shotgun as well. Hot Wells' range fee is $10 for one gun and $10 for each additional gun.
Hot Wells has a unique pricing in that multiple shooters still pay $10 for the gun. Here's what the FAQ section states:
Q: Does Hot Wells charge by the shooter or the gun?

A: We charge only by the gun at a rate of $10 per gun including applicable sales tax. (i.e. One shooter with two guns= $20. Five shooters with one gun = $10.)

I don't know if ASC is the same.

I couldn't bring as many guns, but I really don't mind throwing for an extra $5 or $10 bucks for one extra firearm.

Good points. I'll call them tomorrow or Friday to see if they have some sort of group arrangements where they may relax their normal fees for a large group. I'll post what I find out...
