Oh good, this thread is alive again. Now is my chance to settle a little debate between my wife and I.
Question : When stirring something, such as a cup of coffee, which direction do you stir?
Clockwise or counterclockwise?
Please indicate if you're left or right handed with your answer.

Do you put the toilet paper on with the paper coming off the front, or off the bottom of the roll?

For maximum efficiency, it's important to let the Coriolis effect dictate the direction of stir. Therefore, clockwise in the northern hemisphere, counterclockwise in the southern hemisphere.USA1 wrote:Oh good, this thread is alive again. Heh...such an elementary understanding of physics - you totally negate the polarity of the moons (yes plural). Furthermore, the coefficient of friction is influenced greatly by air density at relative altitude.Skiprr wrote:For maximum efficiency, it's important to let the Coriolis effect dictate the direction of stir. Clearly the answer is counter clockwise, if in the northern hemisphere. During the summer solstice. With the right hand, pencil grip on a spoon with a checkered MSH.
