Quite gauche, my boy. MMM...yes.Harumph, harumph.

I prefer Steve Vai with the Metropole Orchestra. I sense a bit more joie d' vivre and je ne sais quoi in that preformance. Plus, I believe the old chap composed it with the help of that Eric Johnson fellow...

I don't think anyone is slamming intellect, the never-ending quest for education or appreciation for the arts in any way - merely those who are arrogant enough to believe that their knowledge of the arts automatically makes their opinions superior to anyone else's opinion.

Heck, that's nothing, Andy. I once had a season's ticket to the Redskins, back in the glory of the Redskins vs. Cowboys days!

Astute, Andy. I believe you are correct, at least with respect to most of the commentators. I will happily and gracefully grant that. I think I was aggravated by comments which appeared aimed directly at me, as a genre, if you will, even though the commentators know me not. They were not shooting at me, as they are, I will assume, not at all familiar with my personal values. My overreaction was a too-typical failure on my part.
But Hoi still likes me (I think), and that is all that matters. :biggrinjester:

"rlol" :smilelol5:

Oh, dear boy, you must not have heard. Lord and Lady Snottypout are once again absolutely RRRRAAAAAAAVING about both Johnson and Vai.

In fact, this choice was the number one selection in "Pompous Snot Music" magazine this month:

I love this thread!

We've covered the Tech band, Monet, the bourgeois and the boojwah, the DMA, independent verification of statistics, opera, fatherhood, media, logical syllogisms, truffle salad, ethnographic values, bacteria, Shakespeare, statistical variance, WWII weaponry, Steinbeck, vegetarianism, humor, Latin clichés, justification for deadly force, cutting-edge technology in the modern American household, Hemmingway, personal values in relation to American values by socioeconomic group, standardization of terminology, language acquisition, Mahler, Yngwie, firearms instruction, joie d' vivre, heavy metal in classical orchestral settings, landmark American sporting events, trauma surgeons, and more.

I think this thread proves far more than the attached poll on whether "cultured" bubbles and "weapons owners" bubbles ever intersect. Those who attend the art exhibit should be given a link to come here and have the privilege of having a cultured discussion at the CHLForum Salon. It would be enlightening.

I know this isn't a full orchestra, or heavy metal, but one of my favorites with that classical feel to it.

Or worried about what style to print it. Would an abstract style work? Maybe Cubism? Pop art?

Would I get extra culture points if I was a patron of the exotic kind?
When in doubt

I choose to remain my lovable, charming, witty, sarcastic, BARBARIC self!!!! :biggrinjester:

I'm kinda happy out here in the man-cave, swillin' ice tea, feeling the breeze......

When in or out of the cave, the old shootin' iron is strapped on, ready for those saber-tooth tigers...... :shock:
