Very good catch on "African" vs. "Negro".
I was also surprised about "Caucasian" vs "White". My birth certificate says "White" or just "W". I am a little older than Obama, but definitely in 1961, there was no political correctness back then.
African is not a race. Negroid is a race.
If Obama had been born on the main land race would have said "Negro" or "Colored" in 1961.
Not sure about Hawaii, and how they did things back then. They had primarily Pacific Islander, Caucasians, Mongoloid and less than 1% Negroid in Hawaii at the time. Not sure what terms they used for each, but African does not seem likely.
The family of the doctor has confirmed that it is his signature with out question.
The whole look of the document seems odd. Was this supposedly a simple scan of what they received from the State of Hawaii. I would have at least shown the entire document so the edges of the paper were visible.
I don't agree with Trump to often, but if this is his birth certificate why wasn't it produced three years ago. Why spend all the effort to not produce it.

Here is my issue with this "official" document:
It shows absolute evidence of electronic doctoring - notice the "1". Obviously photoshopped. As far as I'm concerned this makes it null and void.
Would any governmental entity accept a birth certificate from you if it showed such evidence?

He probably should have had one of the Treasury Department money engraver artists do it. They could have even drawn real footprints and created a real-looking "birth certificate" instead of the tired old "certificate of live birth"

The "1" has a smooth eddges (anti-aliasing). just an electronic font and not bit-mapped scanned. How come some of the fonts are 1-bit scan and the others parts are a grey-scale scanned or color scanned? That is 3 scans in one!

Re: the long lost birth certificate
Not that I am really interested, and I haven't seen the supposed document, but a few years back, before bambam was elected, and just to prove I could do it relatively easily with home equipment, I modified my DD214 to show a different name and added a Bronze Star to awards and decorations. Didn't change any of the duty stations or stuff, so anyone looking at it would have to wonder just how the Bronze Star was earned, but it was just an exercise in showing that such things can be done with relative ease, and I long since discarded the file. I picked the DD214 because it was an easily obtainable official document that gets used for various purposes long after military service.
The only thing that would have been missing in order to print it and make it look genuine would have been the right paper, but it would obviously have been produced on a modern printer, so producing only a "copy" would have been necessary. As someone else pointed out to me on that now defunct Compuserve forum, it would have probably been easier to "forge" such a thing by obtaining a blank 214 and using old typewriters, with friends providing the signatures, than the amount of time I spent tweaking the text and such.
This was back around the time that some people got caught making counterfeit money using "modern" printers, copiers, and scanners.
All of the above notwithstanding, he's still a Chicago politician, and he lied to his constituents, which is what Chicago politicians do, and no amount of paper fiddling can change that fact.

I was going to avoid looking, because I didn't want to get into it, and I glanced up and saw boxes 20 & 22, where the typewriter magically changes the angle on which it is typing.

Those two boxes (20, 22) are stamped from a date stamp I believe.
To me it looks like there may have been legibility issues in the scanned document and someone decided to use the "Text Touchup" tool in adobe to correct / change the text on the form.

Re: the long lost birth certificate
I just opened the PDF document, which I downloaded from the whitehouse.gov link, in Adobe Illustrator and see exactly what you are talking about. I can't believe how stupid these people are! You'd think they would have just flattened the image, and posted it as a JPEG! No one would have been the wiser, other than speculation. This proves to me exactly what has been said many times before. Just good old Chicago politics in action at the White House! To me this proves without a doubt he WAS NOT born where he has declared, and he should be removed from office. I'll be very interested to hear what he has to say now that this new document has been shown to be a fake. OK Mr. Obama, you got some splainin to do!!!

I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.
