That won't fly because of people leasing land to hunt deer.
If I'm paying money for a deer lease (season or annual) I expect that my group are the only ones to do any hunting on the property (day leases being an obvious exception). I don't want to come across someone I don't know wandering around. Just our group and the land owner/family. Obviously exceptions for workers herding cattle, surveying, etc., but no one else should be hunting. I expect most lessees would feel the same.
Just my opinion on how I see it shaking out.
I just don't like my money going to someone who complains about too many hogs but won't allow anyone to assist in reducing the population. Instead, they would rather hold their hand out for some easy, taxpayer cash or charge a ridiculously large fee to allow others to shoot the "problem". Heck, there are already six folks (seven counting myself) in this short thread who are ready and willing to help.
Read this thread (its long) and then we'll talk.

I can give you no less than a half dozen GOOD reasons why (most) land owners do not allow people they don't know onto their land to hunt hogs.
And its laughable....the thought that the "average Joe" with little to no hog hunting experience would even see a hog, let alone shoot one. Even if you did, taking out a "few" hogs does nothing to address the overall problem.
The most likely outcome of your proposal: Increased traffic/pressure will temporarily move the animals off the the property onto neighboring lands. That only causes a problem for my neighbor and again....does nothing to reduce numbers.
Additionally, every time you fail to kill a hog, you educate it.....and I can tell you...they are already plenty smart.
Read the thread...and if you can come back here and honestly say you know more about hogs and hog hunting than I do, then we'll talk.
But, the notion....that allowing the public to waltz in here and hunt... will in anyway "solve the problem" is just beyond naive.
