OK laws

We are going to Bricktown in a couple weeks.

Looked at Handgunlaws.us but was wondering if any of you had first hand experience carrying in OK? Just wanting to get some personal knowledge on OK laws.

Thanks in advance!

I've carried in OK a number of times. I think the primary laws you should be aware of is that ANY "no guns" sign is legal, and no caliber larger than .45. I think you can only carry one gun, so no BUGs. HERE IS A LINK TO THEIR CCW HANDBOOK.

We, in Texas :txflag: , are fortunate that we have specific signage as pertains to CC. This is definitely not the case in all other states.

Good to know but in all my time in Oklahoma I never saw any signs banning guns.

The only ones I saw were at the entrance to a hospital in Enid, and a nursing home in Fairview.

Why .45? I mean if someone wants to carry a desert eagle in .50 AE, why not let them? They'll regret it 5 minutes later when they're holding up their pants.

Beats the heck out of me. It's their law, not mine. Maybe they don't want people carrying anything more powerful than what an LEO would carry? Who knows? I do believe that .45 would include both the ACP and the Long Colt cartridges.

Would "no larger than a .45" include a .44 mag., how bout a .454 casull? It's a silly law, especially since they rely on the diameter of the bullet, oh well.
