Now that the Census workers are going around so are the fake Census workers doing home invasions.

One man was killed in a home invasion where the attackers posed at Census takers, Houston police said.

At least three men, possibly four, forced their way Saturday afternoon into a home in the 400 block of Truman, near Yale, in north Houston.

Reginald Haynes, who lived at the home, died in the attack.

Once the attackers were inside the house, they tied up and assaulted the family who lives there, said Steve Straughter, Houston Police Department homicide investigator. He would not elaborate on the type of injuries. The attack began at about 2:30 or 2:45 p.m., he said.

The men demanded money then took several items from the house and left, Straughter said.

Man, this is just plain wrong. Everyone should take heed of this story and caution your kids, parents, spouses, etc. to be watchful of this type of thing.

I've gotten into the habit that I won't open the door if I don't know the person on the other side of it.

I found a notice tucked under my front door mat today. Evidently the census bureau did not like the way I filled out my form - number of adults in the household only - I figure that's the only information required for a head count anyway. I'm supposed to call and set up an appointment for a census worker to come by.

Don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.

Good for you. Let us know how it goes. I wouldn't call either. What are they going to do, throw you in jail for refusing to fill out their fascist paperwork? That'll play well in the press.

Keep your eyes peeled and your guns close.

This is why I carry at my house. We do not know anyone here so we should not be getting visitors. So, when the door is knocked on or dorrbell rang I walk over to it with my hand by my gun and look out the peephole.

I did the same, if a census worker comes to the house I will tell them I have provided all the information I plan on providing and kindly ask them to leave my property.

I grew up on the next street to and in the same block as the one that this occured. It ceased being a good neighborhood when they built the low rent appartment at the end of the block. We were burglarized three times before we gave-up and moved.I never answer the door without a gun in hand.Even if I see a friend standing there they all know I'll be armed and don't think anything of it.I have double doors on the front entrance so I can open the inner and see out better without giving up too much security.Like many of you,I am awaiting the visit from my friendly government census worker.I have already given them all the info they are going to get. With things like this happening, their job just becomes more dangerous.Maybe they will all quit???

Not true. You're required by law to answer every question on the census form.
13 U.S.C. § 221 : US Code - Section 221: Refusal or neglect to answer questions; false answers
(a) Whoever, being over eighteen years of age, refuses or
willfully neglects, when requested by the Secretary, or by any
other authorized officer or employee of the Department of Commerce
or bureau or agency thereof acting under the instructions of the
Secretary or authorized officer, to answer, to the best of his
knowledge, any of the questions on any schedule submitted to him in
connection with any census or survey provided for by subchapters I,
II, IV, and V of chapter 5 of this title, applying to himself or to
the family to which he belongs or is related, or to the farm or
farms of which he or his family is the occupant, shall be fined not
more than $100.
(b) Whoever, when answering questions described in subsection (a)
of this section, and under the conditions or circumstances
described in such subsection, willfully gives any answer that is
false, shall be fined not more than $500.
(c) Notwithstanding any other provision of this title, no person
shall be compelled to disclose information relative to his
religious beliefs or to membership in a religious body.

Also as I see it, it says

was BHO fined for listing his race as Black, when he is mixed race - when there was a box for that as well.

As part of the "false" above also, I wonder then why a lot of radio hosts, tv personalities, etc that I heard during the census time were telling everyone to put 15 kids?

Oh well, I guess i will have some census worker come to my door, well, he/she wont get in, and i hope they don't mind talking through the door and have extra prima-good hearing.
