I understand the waiting list for a conceal hanging license is about 6 weeks.Venus Pax wrote:In our current home, there are deed restrictions that prevent us from openly hanging even if we wanted to, but we could get away with it .
This topic brings back happy memories off mother bringing in frosty linen on a winters day. There was nothing better than having a hot bath and then slipping into crisp air dried sheets on the bed.

Don't forget polygamy, homemade machineguns and silencers and unrestricted carry without government permission, booze sales Sunday mornings, no government control of healthcare including self medication, etc.
Plus the same income tax rates for everyone regardless of religion, marital status and number of spouses, parental status and number of children, number of houses, number of jobs, etc. People should pay for their own choices instead of forcing others to subsidize their life choices.
If you think health care is expensive now, wait until it's free.

Yes, true privacy and non-government interference would include all of the above.Dudley wrote:AndyC wrote:I agree totally - but it can't be applied only to some things and not others eg gay marriage, abortion, choice of religion, etc, etc.![]()

Heck, let's just get rid of income tax altogether. I don't see it being authorized in that pesky constitution that the government is always trying to stamp on.
So long as it doesn't affect my life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness, I really don't care what you want to do

Re: The right to line dry
This will be a non-issue once Obama distributes our 2 set per person one size fits all unisex undergarments.
Honestly if anybody gave us a hard time about this we would hit the thrift stores and buy the wackiest undergarments we could find and never take them off the line!
Our country is falling apart and this news?

Times change and many aren't flexible about it.
Few had clothes dryers when I was a kid, most everyone line dried. Outside T.V. antennas pushed rabbit ears aside and were the height of technology, every house had one or more sprouting off the roof.
Were I to see clothes on lines and T.V.antennas on every roof I wouldn't bat an eye, but I can certainly understand how others may find them an eye sore.
Too they're emblems of yesteryear and to some extent a lower socio-economic order and will completely disappear like the buggy whip in the not too distant future.
For the most part they already have...

Amendment XVI

Re: The right to line dry
I personally don;t have any 'income'. I trade the property I label as time for the funny green printed paper property owned by the people in the large glass building down the street. No income involved, just an exchange of differing properties. . .bdickens wrote:You must have missed:dicion wrote:Heck, let's just get rid of income tax altogether. Re: The right to line dry
Funny thing is most HOA's try restrict TV antennae's but according to the FCC they can not restrict peoples rights to TV reception. Unfortunately it's one of those cases of fighting it can cost you more than it costs for a years service. There was a guy over in Mira Vista (houses in there were million plus at least the ones I looked at for grins in the year 6 BO) that was fighting their HOA over Antennae or dish regs forget wheather he was Dr or Lawyer but most people don't have the funds to do it. I always swore I'd never live in HOA subdivision yet here I am.
I may not like the rules, but I knew what they were ahead of time only because the sales gal for one of the builders gave me a full copy of the docs when I started looking. So far I've been popped with warnings twice only one was enumerated in the covenants specificly, blocked the sidewalk while parked in my drive. Funny thing is the sidewalk only goes from my property line to my property line no houses at all for 10 lots to the corner on 1 side and 5 lots between me and the next neighbor with sidewalk anyone walking in the area uses the street not wanting to cross the open lots.
Got no problem keeping it clear when they finish linking them together when the new builder starts throwing up some sticks down the rest of the street and someone uses them. Oh well as I said I knew the rules ahead of time and it does keep Bubba Bob from parking his aluminum fishing boat and the 15 yo motor home in the drive.
