Agreed. I have 3 nephews and a brother who all made rotations through Iraq. I just received word the other day that the 3rd nephew has made it home safely.
I watched this, and now I sit with tears in my eyes. This young man, much younger than I, lost from his family, doing what He loved. Serving with the Corps is a very difficult task. Not many can do it. I had the opportunity to do so for the first 4 years of my Military career. Since I came into the Army, they have sent me downrange for a total of 39 months. I have cheated death on many occasions. I sometimes feel as if I should not be here, but my family has prayed for the best of me, and I am still here. Thank you for this post, LCpl Lara will always be remembered by me.
