JFK Holding An AR-15?

I have no information as to the backstory of this photo. Since it had to be taken prior to November 1963 and before being adopted by the military it is definitely an AR-15if the photo is real. It could be a fake but where I ran across it would be an odd place for someone trying to promote his association with a "black rifle". With that said the, location and surroundings of the photo do seem odd. If anyone has information regarding it please jump in.
