Seeking Farmers in North Texas

#1

Post by carlson1 »

As of today I have lost a total of 128lbs. I know it is a lot of weight, but those that do not know me should understand I need to loose another 128lbs. I have not had any surgery of any kind for weight loss I just spent a lot of time reading and learning about food. Basically what real food is. I no longer eat any processed foods, but being locked in between Dallas and Ft. Worth it is hard to seek real whole organic foods.

I am looking for a farmer in North Texas with chickens so I can buy chickens to eat as well as eggs on a monthly basis.

I am also looking to buy beef or a half a side of beef from a North Texas farmer. I wished I had room for a whole cow, but I do not.

I would also like to buy pork from a North Texas farmer.

If you are in the North Texas area and are a farmer or can point me in the right direction I would be so appreciative.

Thanks
Carl

Carl, as for veggies, the guy that’s at the farmers market at rock island and Rogers on Saturdays has a farm in Grand Prairie.
For meat, we buy all of our meat from Allen Wholesale. They have chicken, pork, beef, and seafood.

Thank you my friend. I had no clue we had a farmers market. I have been driving to Dallas for that. I will check it out next Saturday. Thanks again.

Carl, that’s great! I am personally scheduled for gastric sleeve surgery on November 4, a little over 2 weeks from now.

Wow, Carl. Just saw this. You've lost my dear wife!

(Wait. Is she looking? Because she'll say she weighs 119...)

Congrats! And we'll be thinking of TAM. I guess he waited until he turned 49 to get the sleeve. :biggrinjester:

z-bar raises cattle in Montague County (North of Decatur) and sells out of a shop in Keller.

Not sure whether you can buy a half cow, but they do have a "Bundles" page.
Nice folks in their shop. I like to buy the weird (hard to find at Kroger) cuts and see what I can do with them on the smoker or grill.

I see they also have pork in their CL ad, but not on their website.

You must be rich Carlson. The only beef I can afford these days is hamburger. Chicken is getting up there in price as well. Thanks Joe Biden.

I am rich I guess. God has sure taken care of me more than I deserve. I also don’t have children at home anymore. When you eat just one meal day it is not so bad. One meal for me and my wife cost what we use to eat for three days on and yes - Joe Biden
